Pros: the class is based on a project and there are no exams
Cons: he still goes over textbook and makes you buy it.. you DON'T need a book in his class!!
he is a great teacher and he knows what he is talking about but he is very stubborn about his own views. the class is based on a project but it has to be done/ formatted EXACTLY the way he wants it to be done otherwise he takes points off. he is a little biased towards the kids he likes as well so BE A TEACHER'S PET!
even though there aren't any exams.. i think i have done the most amount of work for this class.. specially because my group sucked and didn't do anything.. i ended up doing all their work!

It is true. Prof H is an "interesting character". After reading multiple comments and then taking his class, I saw first hand how challenging he could be but instead of challenging his authority I voiced my opinions and concerns and he seemed to somewhat enjoy that. Attendance is required however if you send him an email and let him know when you will be late or absent that goes a long way also. At times I did feel like I was in elementary school when I saw "Late/Unexcused" even for only being late for one minute... Be sure to attend seminars and do your online homework and you will be fine...

UGHHHHHH. DONT even think about taking this course if you have a full course load. It's only worth 4 credits, but it should be 20. SOOO much work that i barely had time for any other classes.
Prof is very uptight and even if you're a min late he'll make sure to "impute your average".
NOT an easy A
you learn a little
the 4 hour night class is TORTURE!!!
You've been warned

He makes you work hard for your grade which can bring out the best of you. He makes the class very competitive between groups which in the end helps everyone. One of the best teachers I had at drexel. It should be mandatory for all Business majors to take him!

He has a plan and will not alter it, regardless of how ridiculous his syllabus is. I think he does mean well, and it is pretty easy to get a B or even an A-, but it is REALLY hard to get an A. He only gives two or three a quarter. The workload is very heavy, and it is very stressful. You won't have any clue what your grade is 99% of the time.

First off, he will keep you guess at many times. The way he grades is a bit arbitrary and you'll never really know where you stand. But as long as you show some effort and put in the work you'll get a good grade!! DO NOT WORRY about your grade if you put in the work. The system he has is ridiculous and if you try to nit pick every point you'll go crazy (his exact words). Other than that he really does try to teach you something a little different. This was a really stressful, fun, and real world type class. You'll learn alot if you relax and do your work.

If you’re planning to take MGMT 260 with Hackett, you’re in for a treat. Though he is highly educated in the entrepreneurship field, he really doesn’t have any real experience. His teaching style is different from most professors. He relies heavily on class participation, loves to use WebCT, and boasts a 30-page syllabus. He claims to have optimized the MGMT 260 course throughout his 2 years of teaching it, but any student can poke holes in it. Just like entrepreneurship, his classes have a ton of uncertainty and ambiguity when it comes to grades. There is no way to figure out your grade throughout the quarter. If you plan to take Hackett, I wish you the best of luck on your many presentations and overly burdensome deliverables. Though this course was such a pain when taking it, it was definitely a good experience. Oh yeah, I hope you love group work.

While my grade for the class was pretty good, there was too much work, and too much group work. Man is extremely anal, and sticks to his agenda. I didn't like the strict grading and required attendance. Can't say I liked the idea of submitting a ton of ideas for inventions as our first assignment. Something tells me he sells our ideas to someone who can do something with them.

Professor Hackett is not your ordinary guy. He has his quirks (which if you take him you will know what I mean) but overall he is a really nice guy who makes class fun and interactive. There is a heavy workload, but you do learn a lot - and the work can actually be fun, go figure!

I would recommend this class to anyone taking a normal course load. I took it while taking a total of 22 credit hours- oy! Way too much work, not enough time. However, I learned more in this class than any other at Drexel. He really cares about his students.

Sean Hackett teaches an entrepreneurship (entre.) class and he's not even an entrepreneur himself! He makes it seem hard by talking about corporate entre., which is not at all what entre. has to be. It can be far less complicated. There is a lot of work involved in this class too and it will take up a lot of your time. I have mixed feelings towards this professor.

good class to take, learn alot, you have to complete 2 quizes per week, then just make sure you go to class and be on time because hes very picky about that, then you have a final group project that is pretty fun and he grades easy, overall no problem to get an A or B in this course

The workload is heavy but doable. There are 2 quizzes online every week and smaller assignments but there is no midterm and no final. The quizzes are very easy, straight out of the book and there is no time limit when taking them. You’ll get an A as long as you show up to every class. Attendance IS required.

Great Teacher, Great guy.
His assignments however... are for the birds.
due monday morning at 2:00 AM. suppose its to teach us time management and to get the work done before the last min. but come on. im in collage, and i work, at LEAST give me untill 8:30 AM, when a normal job would start. the advent of webct took all the fun out of all-nighters and late-for-class hand-in's. i mean, he's a valuable asset to the school, but 2:00AM! fuck that. Stupid senerio based world.
again, great teacher, great guy.
fuck 2:00am.

Sean is one of the best teachers I've experienced in the Business school. The workload is heavy, however it's consistent throughout the term so you get used to it, and I never felt like the class dragged on. The quizzes are open book online over a couple of days, so as long as you do the work consistently it's hard to get anything but an A. Definitely recommend him!

Great professor. He honestly cares about his students which is a rarity among Drexel professors. If you a have a problem, he is very willing to hear and help you with it. The class is also set up so you easily can get an A. Some may think the HW is a bit much, but I thought it was a lot better than taking tests. The quizzes are open book and the final paper is critiqued by him so much that you can honestly feel good about it when you are finished. I Definately recommend him.

One of the best professors I have had at Drexel thus far. He really enjoys what he is teaching and the social aspect of his profession. The homework is a bit much, but he tries his best to keep the class lively and upbeat. He is truly a great guy who cares about his students. If you have a light schedule or need an extra class take him, but prepared to do mandatory homework twice a week. I enjoyed everything about his class except the hw obviously, but once you get past that you should be able to get an "A". Do the work and attend regularly and you should be fine.

Dr. Hackett is by far the finest professor I have had during my 5 years at Drexel. While the workload is rather heavy, you will find that you learn a great deal from him. He always finds the opportunity to interject real world experiences that correlate to the class material. Sean is also very inspirational and can provide you with some insights into your career options. This is by no means a "easy A" but you can definitely get an A by just doing all of the work and participating a lot in class. I only wish he had been teaching here earlier so that I could've taken him for more classes. Don't miss your chance to get into one of his classes, you won't be disappointed!

I recently had professor Hackett for MGMT 260, his Intro to Entrepreneurship. Enter his class at your own risk. He's dead set on attendance, if you miss more than one, your grade will be lowered a full letter. Also, he barely teaches, he assigns the Learning Objectives from the chapters from the book and we go over our homework for 3 hours. Class is never let out early. It's quite a tedious class, and I wouldn't recommend it.
