-Class was fun
Cons: -She is INCREDIBLY bias and picks favorites. We had a business professional presentation at the end of the term (had to wear a suit and all). The terms said it was a professional presentation. So were did ours very professionally, we provided the facts, shows graphs, charts, overall, not trying to say ours was the best, but I expected AT LEAST a B+ since we did all that was required and everyone presented confidently. What did she have to say about our presentation? That it wasn't "fun" enough and that we needed to "spice it up." Excuse me? I believe this was said to be a business professional presentation. I guess she doesn't have the attention span nor knowledge to understand and appreciate complex matters. And hear this, another group did their's VERY unprofessionally! They made jokes, had inapporpiate pictures (one picture showed their faces cut out and on pasted onto gravestones as a joke). And she LOVED IT. It really struck a nerve with our group because yeah there's was fun and funny. but "business professional" as the instructions said? No way in hell. She said to present this as if you were really presenting this to a company and there's would NOT have went well with a real company. She is unprofessional, uninformed, and uses her enthusiam as a guise to disguise the fact that she is pretty incompetent.
Skip her, take a real professor
finish class earlier
good slides which make everything clear
it is not necessary to read book
Cons: She challenges the class to do better and make their resumes and career plans more detailed and specific - which requires work and time, but I wouldn't have chosen any other Professor for this class - she knows her stuff and made this class a lot of fun!!
upbeat
energetic
decent understanding of business world
Cons: lacks genuineness in terms of wanting to actually provide students with quality help
fails to give feedback/quality feedback
poor with correspondence/interpersonal communication
Explains concepts in depth
Very understanding
Fair tests
She is young and passionate about what she does. Somehow, keeps the entire class interested in boring things such as accounting, marketing, blah blah blah. Attendance IS mandatory but if you pay attention in class and ask questions, the tests should only require minimal studying. The tests are really fair and she tells you beforehand what will be on and it what to know. There is "Connect" homework which is this website that you have to go on and answer questions; the assignments are extremely simple and do not take anymore than 30 mins. I would definitely recommend her to other BUSN 101 students.
She is a good professor, down to earth. I took her night class from 6-10, she usually lets us out by 8ish. I would recommend her.
Cons: Like I said if you're lazy or don't want to put the time or work in then you may want to rethink your major. There's a lot of work and projects but it's all worth it and actually they are projects that you can show to co-op companies in the future. There really aren't any cons to this class.
Cons: There are a lot of assignments, but they all have a purpose. Expectations are high, but that's really not a bad thing in the business world.
- Really enthusiastic about business
- Gives real-world advice about entrepreneurship and business in general that you don't see in a book
Cons: - She doesn't teach Business 102 yet :(
Great enthusiasm and energy, especially for our early morning class. Hoping to take more business classes that she teaches in the future.
Cons: None
If you have the opportunity, take Prof Babitt's class. She is a fabulous instructor and I continue to learn more and more as the class progresses. Prof Babitt cares about her students and wants them to do well, and offers her advice and expertise if needed
Cons: Nothing I can think of
I had Prof. Babitt last year for my University class. The class was one of my favorites - it was enjoyable to come to and she had a lot of interested topics to discuss. There's no textbook for this class, just a lot of writing and reflection assignments which I really liked. If she teaches another class, take her. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants them to do well.
