These comments are hilarious but true. He makes the oddest noises throughout class. I did learn a few things about current affairs. He did fall asleep during our presentations, the final was EXACTLY the same as the midterm. I don't even think he tried to grade out presentations, he just gave out A's. Towards the end, about 20% of the class actually showed up. EASY A HERE!

Roy Kim is possibly the worst professor at Drexel University. You can not understand a word he says and he makes you feel stupid all the time! His syllabus does not make sense. He makes you read two books, one that is about 600 pages, and the other about 400. He makes you do a research project and a PowerPoint Presentation as well as 3 tests, maybe it was 2 I forget. This one time, we were in class, and then he yelled at one of the students for not having an outline for the research project and completely humiliated him. AVOID PROFESSOR KIM AT ALL COSTS, IF YOU TAKE HIM, YOU WILL LOSE. LOSE YOUR SCHOLARSHIP! GG NO RE

One of THE WORST teachers at Drexel! For once listen to these reviews and avoid him at all costs! I added this class a week into the quarter and it was the worst thing I have ever done (And no I am not bitter for getting bad grades or anything, I actually did alright).
The syllabus makes no sense. He picks random topics in the news and basis his entire lecture on that. But then includes things in the test that he never talked about and was never in the book. He basically expects you to know politics already even though its an intro class.
Majority of your grade isn't due until the very end of the term. You've got a test (like 3rd week of the quarter...) weekly website critiques, final paper, ppt presentation, and final exam. I would say overall he is a pretty easy grader, but you will not learn much. To pass the tests I basically had to teach myself everything currently going on in our political system just in case it was on there.
If you know politics you'll be fine, but if you are taking this class expecting to learn, you'll be disappointed.
One more complaint: He CONVENIENTLY waited until the last day of class to tell us there was no time left for the teacher evaluations. hmmmm wonder why.....

Professor Kim is a real interesting character. He is a very smart guy who knows a lot about everything.
He is very upfront with everyone and he will joke around a lot. He will call you out and ask you random questions about politics, history, and current events.
He tells some of the most interesting and rememorable stories that make the class good.
Class consists of reading a book, two exams, and a powerpoint presentation.
If you do all the work, read the assigned book and study for the exams you will do fine.

attendance isnt required but you have to go to class to know what the assignments are. the syllabus was crap- didnt make any sense, he didnt follow the due dates, didnt have the right assignments. he gave a lot of weekly hw. 80& of our grade wasn't due until the friday of finals week.
and he was very random and vaguely offensive. a nutjob. also doesnt make sense and way too much work for an intro class

Can definitely go off topic but you get what you put in to the class. Easy A if you just follow along.

The weirdest teacher ever. His syllabus is not readable, you can not ask questions, and even if you figure out what is on the sylabus- it will turn out to be useless.
You never know what the homework is and when it is due- and there is a lot every week.
He seamed smart at the begining, but then it turned out that he has no idea about current international politics and thinks that the rest of the world stayed in the 80's.
He was trying to e-mail some assignments, and for some reason a lot of people could not open it. Meaning, you can end up geting your take home final on the day that it is due (and it was a 15page essay).
AVOID HIM

Dr. Kim's teaching style is quite different from any other professor at Drexel. He is an extremely well informed and politically connected man who's lackidasical and open teaching methods really let the students take away as much as they want to put into the class. If you prefer a class with more structure - take any other drexel course you'd like. But if you're in persuit of something different, Kim is your man.

worst class ever. You never know what the homework is, and when are the exams. The syllabus he e-mailed is totaly useless. He gets mad if you look for clarification. Never ever take him.

Worst teacher I've had at Drexel. Nobody can understand him and he can't understand his students when they answer or ask a question. Aside from that, he also gives a heavy workload in the form of assignments with no directions.

This guy was awful. He attempted to make class enjoyable, but I didn't understand anything in this entire class. The final consisted of questions to topics never talked about in class. The entire term was spent working on a presentation that has nothing to do with International Politics. If you must take this class, try to get it with someone else

This man is a senile joke. I can barely understand a word he says his accent is so thick. And he's like deaf so he YELLS EVERYTHING.
Has no idea what he's talking about. I don's think he's had a clue since the 1970s.
Totally worthless.
