Pros: Super easy grader
Cons: Always late to class
Weekly HW is annoying
I don't know why his koofers grade is only 3 stars. This guy is a super easy grader, and actually I didn't lost even 1 point from HW as long as I turned in all of them. There was only 1 paper for the entire term, and we had only 2 exams: one midterm and one final with 95% of the questions exactly from his class notes. Although I knew I can get a good grade from this class, I was surprised when I ended up with a A+. Definitely recommend his class if you want a GPA booster.

Pros: Very easy class, skim the text book and you'll do fine.
Frequently doesn't show up for class
Makes a fairly boring subject interesting
Cons: Frequently doesn't show up for class and doesn't let students know until a couple minutes prior
Covers course material discussed in the first weeks almost every class, while helpful, sometimes gets annoying

I took the online class and got an A without really doing any work. All you have to do is skim the readings and make a few posts a week. If the posts are late, he doesn't care. Final project is to write a 7 page paper, but it's easy. Take this class if you want an easy A with doing little to no work.

Very nice professor. Interesting class but certainly not the guy you want to take for an Easy A. He'll tell you about all these theories that you never heard of which you may or may not be expected to know for a test. Prof. Magyar will hold discussions about whatever topics interest the students (while still remaining somewhat on topic) and his classes are very free-form. He also loves bashing the US Gov't...Personally, I'd retake him.

Would not recommend this class. Professor Magyar is a very nice guy good person but not a very good teacher. Uses a book which is not very helpful and can be confusing most of the time. very soft spoken so he is difficult to understand especially in larger class rooms. seems like he taught the same material for the first five weeks of class. final exam is not formatted as he said it would be and contained directions which didnt exactly direct... midterm wasnt bad and paper wasnt bad just make sure you write abot something he agrees with and you should do fine. I dont want to completely bash the guy he does give extra credit which helps you will need if you take the class. does give a curve on quizzes and tests if everyone does really bad. i did learn a few things but it was mostly on my own, which ironically was one thing he said he wanted us to do so he kind of hit the nail on the head with that one. Again good guy just not the best teacher ive had.

He's not so bad.....hard to understand what he's saying and what he expects you to learn, we go over the same material is so many different ways you can get easily confused. The workload is relatively light and the reading is relatively easy once you understand the gist...but I definitely agree with others...its more like Magyar's Global Ethics instead of Global Ethics in general....the guy is kinda radical but passionate!

He's not bad...he just is so overwhelming biased to one side that I feel like I am taking Magyar's Global Ethical Issues.
He grades easy, which is a plus, but its hard to get myself to go to class and listen to him

Class was tough to get through, he didn't really seem to know what he was going to cover, basically tried to always cover everything all the time. It made class distracting, confusing, and utterly boring.
I'm biased, I dropped it, but there was just too much work (homework, as in, daily) for a 100-level elective.

Fistly, I cannot believe people saying his workload is heavy. He gives a medium workload which exactly howmuch the course rquires and to make it easy on students, he gives extension pretty easily without any deduction. I was not the only kid who was gained fom his extensions..so that means he does care for his students. He is one of the very few professors who is theoretically very strong with the course. His argument about an ethical issue is flawless and gives us a lot to learn. That doesn't mean he doesn't value others views. There was a class when a kid got really involved in the class and stated giving gr8 insights to the lecture. Prof. Magyar let him do it..and at the end of the prof class gave a five to the kid for his temper and involvement he showed through the class.

If your major relates to business or computers (or you are just really interested/educated in either) this class could be pretty interesting. However, if you are like me and are not majoring in a related field save yourself the heart ache and DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS as an elective.

This should have been an easy class but the professor is unsure of what he's teaching, usually repeats himself unneccessarily or neglects to mention other things that usually end up on pop quizzes. Granted 'Critical Thinking' sounds like a bore, but there is zero effort to spice this up- the professor always sounds like he's spacing out. Also, forget about trying to reach him. I had to email the dean of the school to get him to contact Magyar to contact me. This class wrecked my gpa.

Probably one of the best professors at Drexel. This guy knows his stuff and makes sure you understand it as well. He listens to both sides of the arguement and respects everyone's opinions. If you're looking for a teacher that is going to challenge you and a class that you can really get something out of, than he's the man. If you're trying to take a b.s. class i wouldn't recommend him because he expects decent work.

I took this class really hesitantly because of all the negative feedback, and was prepared for some obnoxious creature to pontificate at me all day. That wasn't the case at all. Magyar encouraged student participation, and since I was one of the more quiet ones, he would pay attention to me on the rare occasion that my hand twitched upward in class. I thought he was really respectful and helpful when I had a question after class or something. He made a topic like computer ethics interesting...especially since my major has nothing to do with computers. The only problem I had with him is that he isn't really reliable or timely with answering questions via email, so it's best to just ask after class. Other than that, I really liked him. As for being a hard grader? I knew nothing about this field and ended up with an A. If you put some work into it, you'll be fine. Take him.

He's a great teacher. Really smart and likes to go in-depth with the readings. Readings can be hard at times, but most of the time he will tell u the gist of the articles and thats all you need to kno for the tests. He's quirky, and i love all his opinions cos he's not afraid to share them with the class, no matter how crazy it may seem. He's an overall good guy and a fair grader!

I had horrible expectations when I went into this course, and that really shaped my entire experience. It's not a bad class, but it can be boring at times. I appreciated him bringing us up to speed on the issues, and I did learn something from everything.

magyar is probably the coolest teacher drexel has. this man actually cares for his students, there is tons of work and reading material every week, but its worth it. he respects his students and thats what i like most about him. you will actually learn in his class, for those who cryin , take your money to temple or go to a community college, that way you will get what you want, lower quality education. i would recommend magyar only to those who are interested in learning and love to read.
