If wrote an essay on how much I've learned from this class, it would be blank. ENGL 102 is a continuation of ENGL 101 where all we talk about is the importance of rhetorical analysis and how it gets rehashed ever week. The class meeting once a week proves ineffective as there is no time in class to effectively learn something in practical application. We spent the majority of our classes discussing rubrics and what is expected on our composition assignments, rather than any material. She asks you every week to write a short 200 word "blog" about reading or writing, however it becomes very difficult to find inspiration and it ends up being a hurdle that gets in the way of homework that is more important to my major. She doesn't grade the blog posts, or review them for errors or flaws in writing mechanics, just do it to get credit. Every week she has a Facebook wall post, where you must comment at least twice in order to get credit. Again, she doesn't grade this either, or review it, she just makes sure you fulfill the 2 comments, and you get credit. In the classroom, she tries to be strict, however, she comes off as crass. She will ask you to put away your phones, laptops, and any other things that might be distractions to the class, but in doing so she tries to humiliate the students where, in the end, she comes off humiliating herself.
On a positive note, she is normal compared to some other English teachers I've had. She gets what's going on in popular culture and she's got a dark sense of humor. The class only meets once a week, there are a few readings online and some videos. The Facebook posts often produces good banter and discussion between classmates.

 Her assignments are very confusing and she makes really bad, inappropriate jokes. I can see why people like her, but not as a college professor. It seems like we need to keep her in check. She always rambles about her class. The teachers that I've had before are far more competent, organized, mature, and clear about what they want. If I could, I would drop her class now, but I might as well stay. Let's see how badly the next 9 weeks will be.

 had her for all-online english. sometimes grading took a while, but she always answered questions when you needed her to. definitely would recommend for the online classes.

 A lot of people do not like Professor Fradkin but I would certainly have to disagree. The key to her class is to get on her good side and become one of her favorites. Joke around with her in class and participate.
She is an overweight lady who is both Jewish and a lesbian so if that has any effect on you then don't take her.
She is both sarcastic but makes class fun. Do the three essays each term and get A's and you will be okay. In your essays make sure you have a good first paragraph (good thesis), good opening sentences and a good closing and you will get an A.

 I've purposely tried to sort my schedule to fit one of her classes all year. I've had her for 101, 102, and now I'm taking her for 103. I've gotten all A's so far. I've never been grade grubber, but I do my work. Just do the 10-15 minute reading before class and hand in the three essays using the guidelines on the syllabus. As long as you use some kind of writing technique taught in class (which isn't hard to do) you will be fine. Seems to be all she looks for are the techniques. I'd recommend her to anyone who has a decent work ethic.

 I feel like she has every intention of making the class an easy freshman english class. i mean common, we are learning about how to write an essay. something we have been learning over and over again for the past ten years. she grades easy. go to class. dont be a dick. turn in every essay(3) and youll be set.

 Fradkin is not a bad teacher. She does play favorites and she does care too much about attendance. However, she is a very easy grader and she really does want her students to succeed. As long as you do your work, which isn't that much, you will get an A. The class does feel like high school, but it's not entirely a bad thing. It's the easiest class I have at DU.

 I'm not sure if we are thinking about the right teacher because I thought she was AWESOME!! I would definetly recommend her. I never saw her playing favorites and class was interesting. Plus she graded very easy compared to my previous English teacher.

 Definately plays favorites. Also a bit vindictive. Basically she is like a high school teacher. Expect that if you're late or absent she will make a huge deal out of it. lame. most of her assignments are unclear, her class is boring at the most. she gives readings every day (little ones). I'm sure this is a easy class to pass if you like to kiss teacher's ass, but if you don't, then I'd advise people to skip her.

 I'm in her class now and she's terrible. She ends clas time 30 minutes early most of the to go feed her parking meter, aka eat food. Don't take her she sucks. Probalbly the worst teacher I've ever had in my entire academic career.
