Cons: Didn't give examples
Didn't teach to the test but rather what you needed help with
If you know your shit take it. However if you are like me and need help don't take this since he only does questions he is asked to do and doesn't do examples that will show up on quizes/exams.
Funny personal stories
Flexible
Cons: Incredibly terrible teaching style
Never explains what he is doing
Quizzes and exams are unbelievably hard
Immordino is a super sweet guy, but I cannot stand the way he handles his classroom. He expects the students to go above and beyond to learn every possible thing for this course, and then when we happen to learn the material, he thinks it must be too easy and kicks up the intensity. Honestly, if you're reading this and have to take math 239, wait for another professor to teach it and then take it. You'll save a lot of time and save yourself from a lot of pain by getting a different professor.
Usually ends class early
Doesn't take attendance
Cons: Bad at answering questions
Doesn't go over homework
Wastes time taking about personal life
Mr.Immordino is a nice guy, but he's a really awful teacher. When he does problems on the board, he never explains how he's solving it, and he often skips writing down steps that he does in his head, which makes it hard to follow along. Also, he assumes that you know basic Calculus (and I don't, since my last math class in High School was Pre-Calc in junior year) which makes it difficult to understand the material in the first month or so of class. Don't bother asking him questions. When you do, he treats you like you said the dumbest thing ever and answers you by repeating what he said before you asked, without making anything the least bit clearer. I reallyyyy hate his class.
Cons: I don't really care about your personal life (just sayin)
Doesnt do a lot of examples, mostly just notes/ concepts
Real solid teacher, gets off topic a lot and is easily distracted. If you need examples to learn though, I would not suggest him because he doesnt do that many.
quizzes are from ungraded homework
leave class early often
Cons: doesn't teach the material, he just quickly goes through examples
If you know the material it is an easy class for you, and he will allow you to leave class if you know what you're doing. If you need to learn the material then i would suggest a different teacher
Cons: Is a little scattered and gets chalk everywhere.
Sit in the front, ask questions, do the homework, and you will get a decent grade. Very nice guy, I would highly recommend him.
His quizzes are taken straight from the homework. Do the homework and you will be fine in this class.
Cons: Sometimes makes mistakes and students have to correct it.
He also makes the exams so he gives his students a heads up on what to study.
Cons: The tests are pretty difficult.
Cons: none
Do the homework, attend class, ask questions and the class is great.
Definitely do the homework as the weekly quizzes are identical to the problems. He's willing to do any problem on the board and explain any of the answers.
His notes for the lectures don't really correspond with the homework problems, so there is some component of the class where you have to study by yourself.
Overall, great teacher, but a little confused.
