Pros: He's a really incredibly nice guy. He gives a lot of review questions for exams. He seems to genuinely care about his students.
Cons: He talks really fast, and he's not super helpful when asked questions. He's probably better at a graduate level.

Pros: -Explains every detail in diagram(very imp for multivariable calc)
-will answer all questions
-pace is good enough
-exams are reflective of his examples and review questions
Cons: -tends to mumble so somtimes hard to understand
-You have to pay close attention to what he is talking about or else you will loose him
Very easy exams. Just make sure you understand the concepts can do the review questions well enough and that would be it. You dont even need to do the tough review questions( just do them for fun) he will just test you to see u have ur concepts down. has weekly quizzes on the material taught in the week, so ensures u understood what took place in class that week. And generally very easy going and good professor.

Dr Boyer is a funny old man. He has passion in math, but most of the time, there are few reactions in class. His materials are clear and straightforward, the quizzes are from the exercises he taught in class.
However, i do have a hard time recognizing his notes and he speaks in a strange way.

Dr. Boyer has a true passion for teaching mathematics - if you go to the Korman center, you'll see that he has received several national awards over the last couple of years. Abstract Algebra is a tough subject - it's a reasoning course, and I'm not a huge fan of proofs. However, he does provide review sheets, and his weekly quizzes force you to study the material frequently. His mid-term exams are based on a single review sheet, however do not take his finals lightly: study hard for them, because it could make or break your grade (it's worth 40% of your final grade). He laughs quite a bit and is quirky, and math students can get used to that (it actually provides for a lighthearted atmosphere for a tough subject). He is approachable and certainly cares about students.

He was very fun and exciting. A bit wierd to sit in the back and raise your hand and see if run to the back to take your question only to think, why cant the rest of the class hear. He does 10 laps around the room every 30 seconds because he is so energetic, I dont even have that much energy in a whole day, its insane. You will learn the material well and have stories to tell for a life-time. I took him a year ago and still go, "remember in boyers class..."

Easy A. You can get a zero on the tests and still end up with a 75 if you do the "replacement" problems! But it is not like you can even get a zero because you pretty much do the entire test with different numbers on the review sheet!!

Boyer is an excellent math teacher. He creates a relaxed atmosphere and I believe that the mind opens in this type of enviroment. I worked moderately hard and got an A. I suggest that you do all of his in class handouts since 90% of the tests and quizes are based on them. Take Dr. Boyer.

It took me a while to get used to Boyer and his weird sense of humor. He explains all concepts geometrically first, and then goes on to do the actual calculus. He'll explain everything in a way where it's kind of hard not to understand what he's doing. Do a few of the homework problems he assigns, even if they're not collected - it'll really help you understand the material. In-class problems help because his quizzes and exams are based on them. His lectures are quite long, sometimes it gets tough to sit through a full two hours. Try to take his class three days a week for 50 mins if it's possible.

this guy rocks, he makes things so simple. lectures are a bit boring, but he always does something funny to laugh at. and its great because he laughs at himself too. generally nice guy, fair grader. he even provided a way to get out of a dreadfully scheduled saturday final. pretty nice of him.

Professor Boyer is the MAN!! The workload is very very low and he takes time in class to make sure everyone understands whats going on. If you are having trouble he can generally spots it and will help you get through it. HANDS DOWN TAKE THE MAN!! I hate math but learned alot and even found it easy!
