- If you are lost at all he is more than willing to answer any questions you have
Cons: - Some people found him unfriendly
Helped me easily understand all the necessary math concepts for all the quizzes/tests. He does take attendance, non issue for me but others may dislike.
-Goes over material over and over until you get it.
-Ends class early on occasion which is nice since math can be a drag
-Funny, smart, has some really cool shirts (Portal lol)
Cons: -Ray really is a 5 star professor, however, I am taking away a star due to the difficulty of the material.
-There was one section of the class that I just could not pay attention to. It required a lot of work per problem and I just wasn't focused. It wasn't Ray's fault, it was mine.
-I honestly thought 102 was easier than this (101).
If you are not Math savy, this course is going to be tough for you regardless of who you take. I received a C+ in this class and I am an A student. I did not pay much attention during the middle weeks of his class. My struggles could have been avoided had I paid a bit more attention. Overall, I would suggest Ray to all students
- Teaches by showing examples of problems
Cons: -Wants students to learn the material so much that he is almost zealous about it. Gets easily frustrated if questions arent asked on recitation days.
- Teaches by showing examples of problems that are worded very differently on quizzes/exams
Unless you are good at math/calculus, I do not recommend Favocci. He teaches by showing examples but the wording of his tests/quizzes is very confusing. I am and never have been good at math and might have to drop the course because his teaching style does not work for me.
Cons: Is not an easy teacher. Must show up to class. Like all math 102 courses. There are 2 exams and a final. along with mathlab and a couple quizzes.
If you plan on learning some calc fundamentals this is the right professor.
Explains things clearly
Works with you until you get it
Available outside class
Fun in class
Cons: Maybe a little bit too much homework?
He was a really good teacher. He seemed to really want you to succeed. He was willing to let me reschedule my tests when I wasn't able to make it, since I was commuting.
Cons: Sometimes it will take a lot of time for him to finish an exercise. Uses a long way to solve it.
Although I hated the class because I took calculus in high school and was bored out of my mind, he made it better than it would have been in other MATH 102 sections. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!
Ray makes things easy and gets to the point. If you attend class and do the homeworl, you'll get an A. One of the best Math teachers!!
