Extremely considerate with test scores. Get a C, chances are good it'll count as a B/A.
Super nice prof who puts the experience and involvement value a bit higher than your test scores.
Cons: Be very careful about your group project partner choices!! The group is yours for BOTH projects, with 4-6wks of assignment planning and completion.
Assignments are easy, if you could work alone. Underachiever/invisible group mates make them complicated.
Attendance is not taken, so MOST people have "better" things to do than show up. Hint: Group with people who seem to show up every class from the start.
Great class. Great prof. Easy A and a mixed pot of majors.
Don't take if you just want an easy A with minimal effort. A new project was added to the course, using a computerized shopping mall project simulator. Requires patience, time, understanding of all details on paper assignment, and figuring out ways to make a more "one person" project doable by a group.
Take home exams
Cons: Lots of writing
Overall, this is one of the most interesting courses I took at Drexel. If you're into marketing, you should definitely check it out. His lectures are engaging - it's a mix of psychology and marketing applications. There was one group case study and several papers, but no text book or weekly homework assignments. There was a midterm and a final but both were very easy if you attended the lectures. Since there's no book, the way to pass his exams is to pay attention in class, the tests are straight forward and apply concepts covered in lecture. I highly recommend this course and professor.
There were two group projects/presentations, but all you had to do was hand in your slides and present, no papers to write. There were also 3 exams, but they were fairly easy if you had studied, and he gave a pretty steep curve (in terms of "get 10 out of 14 questions right and it is still 100%).
He really cared more about teaching the material to the students and facilitating class discussion about the industry more than making us learn random things just so we could take a test. Not only is it easy to achieve an A but you will actually want to be engaged in the course. As long as you get the notes from somebody, attendance wasn't really an issue, but I believe participation counted for something.
There's 3 tests and 3 group presentations. His grading system really favors the student. Attendance is not required, but he doesn't post lecture notes online. The class is really laid-back with discussions about advertisements and consumer psychology. I'd definitely recommend him.
Honestly cares about his students. Exams are slightly tough, but if u pay attention in class they r quite managable.
it is necessary to come to lectures because he uses ppt presentations that cover the material that is on the midterm and final exam. both tests are fairly easy if you take time to review the material.
recitation has only 1 quiz (easy) and a group project (marketing simulation). There is little work due in recitation other then the final group paper and presentation. All very manageable if everyone on your team chips in.
