Pros: online class, doesn't grade every homework
Cons: hard exams, hard grader, doesn't care if you fail or if you don't understand the concept, does not give good feedback
she really thinks this is a masters level class, she does not treat it as an introductory course. i would only take this class if you already have knowledge about philosophy because she assumes you already know everything and that everything should be easy.

She is the worst and mean professor I have ever had at Drexel. Don't take her class. You will easy F and no discussion. I take her online class this term and at the end of tern she gave me F for this class with the ridiculous reason. I just forgot citation for one sentence of my test. She expect her students spend all of time for her class. I did so but she still gave me F and tell me don't expect she will pardon me.

Qresecent is one those people that you either love her or hate her. I loved her because we are both existentialist and I thought she was hysterical. Overall, I really liked her. She looks at drafts so definitely send her one if you want to do well. If you think this is going to be an easy philosophy class, you are wrong. I would recommend taking an intro course first just to get used to abstract thinking.

I am going to start off by saying that I got a good grade in her class, but I honestly don't know how.
Regardless of the fact that I did well in her class, I would never recommend taking her as a professor.
Phil105 is a freshman level class, and I have taken advanced classes which have been easier, yet I learned more from them.
She believes that the world revolves around her class and only her class. She will assign homework randomly at any time of the week and have it due in a few days, or worst of all, post an assignment on a Friday and have it due Saturday night.
Her grading structure is a mess and needless to say an A is a 94% and a B is an 84% (the normal Drexel structure has an A as a 93% and a B as an 83%). It does not help that she randomly chooses to grade some assignments for correction and some for completion and she does that at random. She is a harsh grader and she got harsher with her grading as the term progressed.
The workload is high. At average speed of doing homework, I found myself doing homework for 10 - 12 hours per week (6-8 hours on a good week). If you work, and go to school at once, this should be a red flag not to take her in of itself.
Her exams are not worth much, but are difficult and confusing.
Needless to say, I would not see why anyone would want to take her class at their own will. I wouldn't recommend her.
Granted, I was originally registered for another teacher and I didn't have enough time to find a replacement class, so I had to stick this class out for 10 full weeks and I wasn't lucky enough to Have a choice before registering for her class.

Pros: Provides you with the textbook
Cons: Frequent homework

Tough grader
Complicated grading structure
First off, I wasn't even supposed to take this professor. I was registered to take Daniel Touey for PHIL 105 online who is a 100x much better professor. As for Professor Mason, her class is much harder than it should be. Her argument assignment doens't have clear directions and every time you think you've made an improvement she tells you otherwise and gives you a lower score than your previous attempt. Her exams are difficult, the value of the test is about 50% multiple choice and 50% short answer with there being 10 multiple choice questions and 5 short answers. There are three exams and only worth 5% each but yet she makes them difficult. She also gives you homework every other day and only gives you a day to do it. She can assign homework on a Friday and have it due Saturday night. This can be difficult in the summer especially those who travel down the shore and can't access their class all the time. She also randomly chooses if she will grade it for completion or correctness. Her grading structure is also a mess because she gives you three argument assignments each worth 5% of your grade, but then makes one worth 60 points, another worth 40 and then the other worth 30. The only good thing about her is that she gives you a pdf version of the book online so you can save money. Also remember that if you take her online, she closes all the course materials when an exam opens, so you can't even study the material on tuesday to take the exam on wednesday, once she opens the exam, all the materials are gone. I'd save it to your computer so you can access them anytime.
If you have a choice, avoid this teacher. She is horrible and won't respond to your email unless you give her a nice greeting such as Good Morning Professor Mason and are curtious. She's not even a real professor, she's a grad student at Temple.

Pros: She's nice
Cons: - no teaching skill
- unprofessional
- confusing
- irrational grading
I don't know why she is allowed to teach Philosophy because she is obviously not cut out for this. Nothing more you can get out of her slides other than stuffs already said in the textbook. Her syllabus or schedule is ridiculous and scrambled. And it's true that she always posts the assignment 24 hours before deadline, which may be fine for someone like me who is on the co-op cycle but still, very distracting and disrespectful towards other people's timeline. I'm not going to complain about her harsh grading because I myself once got 100 on her exam. It's true that some people say her exams are easy. However, believe me, the questions are constructed very irrationally and illogically, which in turn makes her exams more difficult than they should be. I just finished the last exam for the online course, and I cannot wait until the very end of the course to post this review because things get so irritating. For an exam, she constantly had bad-worded question stems for which the instruction is not specific and even contains GRAMMATICAL MISTAKES, not typo only. I would not cling to such mistakes to take light of her knowledge but C'mon, it's unacceptable since she is a Philosophy teacher and she is supposed to devote her time to writing, at least, a proper and understandable exam. This is not the first time I've detected such an issue with her course but many many times, which makes me feel that she and her course are really unprofessional. The only reason makes me continue with the course is because I have no other choices and I can "survive" because I especially like Philosophy. I even detected errors in terms of knowledge that she made in her slides, which makes me even more disappointed at her. Although I find it fine for me to manage the class by learning by myself but I would not be surprised if I got a B for this class due to her irrational exams and grading!

Never take this professor. Very harsh grader. If you get one part wrong out of the whole assignment...be prepared to receive a F. Doesn't care if you take the time out to email or talk to her about your grades. Posts assignments that are due withing 24 hours acting like I'm only taking her class.
DO NOT RECOMMEND HER.

Cons: Email communication
Many people are complaining about the amount of homework that was due, but I really didn't find it to be too much. She assigns homework nearly every class, but only requires that 10 be turned in
(although if you miss one she takes away all possible homework points). She's not the best at responding to emails, but overall I enjoyed her class, and I would definitely take her again.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Huge workload, post assignment two days before due day, harsh grading criteria
She is the worst and most ridiculous professor I've ever had at Drexel. She post the slides and assignments two days before the due day and expect you to understand all the materials. The schedule is so confusing. She always have multiple assignments/discussion posted at the same time and there will be several due date for different things.
Her slides are useless and the examples she give just don't make sense. She didn't even bother to set up a review for the second exam. There are two 25 points questions in her exam which make up half of the exam grade and there's no partial credit. Even if you got most of that question right, you will still get an 0 on it. She doesn't care about the students, she just want people put all their energy on her class.
Taking her class is like a suicide mission, never recommend her class.

Cons: Lack of teaching skill. Learn nothing from her. You have to study by yourself.
I am studying her online class and she knows nothing how to teach online. Just posting stuffs on bb learn 2 days before the due day and force students to finish it on time. There is no lecture video, and her slides are useless. You have no change to read previous materials. When everything is done it means done. She closed all of the folder even students need them for next exams.
She opened an live online discussion for midterm on Thursday. The video of the discussion is closed on Friday morning. How the hell all of students can watch it. She always thinks that her class is important so students have to follow her "rules."
Never recommend to take her class.

Pros: The only "pro" of this rating is the fact the Koofers doesn't allow me to give her less than one star.
Cons: She is unhelpful. Her opinion reigns supreme. The amount of work and demand of this class pushed it into being worth 4 credits not three. Soo many of us got C's and below and her mood swings were wiiiillllddddd! I've just spent five minuted writing this, do yourself a favor and spend a similar five finding a better professor.

Pros: She's young and fun and you don't have to buy books for the class, cause all the readings are on BB
Cons: She is SO confusing and this class is a LOT of work. At least 20 pages academic philosophy and a response note (which counts as your attendance so you have to do the readings) due every class. Being that she's young and fun it's hard to understand her and where she draws the line between being a "friend" and a professor. For the midterm and the final we wrote papers and also gave a presentation for the final. THese assignments are really hard and she is such a tough grader. Also, she's a PHILOSOPHY teacher, but only her opinion is right... I would strongly discourage anyone from taking this class unless it is a requirement.

Pros: A very light-hearted instructor.
Tries to get the class involved in her lectures.
Cons: Homework every single day that you have to do in order to be counted for attendance; she once assigned 40 homework problems due over the course of 2 days. It took 5 pages. All the assignments count for 25% of your grade.
Terrible at explaining the basics of the material to her students; she'll often give poor examples, which only serve to confuse the students more. It took several weeks for her to get us to grasp what the difference between different types of arguments were.
The previous point also made it unnecessarily difficult to complete homework assignments and quizzes; if she had taught the basics in a more coherent, most students wouldn't have had problems.
Definitely not the worst teacher I've had at Drexel, but by far the most confusing. It's like she didn't even know the material herself, so it felt like there was no way the material would transfer to us. I would not recommend taking her for PHIL105 until she figures out what she's doing; she is a graduate student, after all.

She is a great change to the usual professor. Her class is filled with laughs. If you volunteer and put effort into your work, it will be easy to receive a good mark. She does grade hard, but if you talk to her about grades she will most likely change it. There is a great deal to learn from Ms. Mason, so I would recommend taking her.
