Pros: Not many writing assignments
Cons: A lot of boring readings.
She made you read her book, which is a novel about politics where she expressed her political view on guns and expect you to agree with her on it during discussion in class. Yes, she watches Fox News.

Pros: Laid back professor - seems to really enjoy teaching, and life in general. And she really knows her stuff. I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Two take-home exam, which were really simple, and a final paper.

Pros: If you love writing, TAKE HER!
Cons: NONE
She's an amazing person and a great teacher. The class is pretty self taught since it's a creative writing class, but the best part is that she is more than willing to spend extra time to talk to you about your story and to help you improve your writing. She will stay after class i need be.
An amazing class where you really get to practice your writing and get peer feedback.
The book What If? that she chose for the class is a goldmine. Great writing exercises!

starts off the term seeming a little strict the first couple of classes, but she just wants to make sure the bases are covered and see what type of students are in the class. the work is made up of 2 journal entries online per week, a take home midterm, and an at-home essay that counts as the final. if you keep up with the journals and read the assigned poems before class so you'll have something to contribute to the discussion, you'll be fine. if you like poetry definitely think about this class, but even if you don't chances are you'll end up having a lot of fun. kotzin is kind of nuts but in a good way, she definitely knows her stuff, she's really funny and she's a total sweetheart. i would definitely suggest taking this class with her!

Professor Kotzin grades relatively hard, but that is only because she teaches everything fully in class. If you pay attention and follow her instructions and lessons to the T you will easily get an A in this class. She is an excellent professor and truly cares greatly about her students

She teaches nothing in class and then expects so much from the students when the time comes for a paper or a quiz. She grades the paper and quizzes so hard, unless your like an english major and can write very well you wont get a good grade. Not to mention the fact that she has no boundaries and is kinda rude.

Kotzin may come off as slightly eccentric at times however she is an amazing teacher who truly knows her material. Put in a little bit of work and act sweet and she'll reward you with an A.

Kotzin definitely gave out a lot of work but she was an easy grader and extremely caring about her students. Although class was boring at times, sit in front and suck up a little bit and you'll definitely earn an A

I never had an honors course in high school so when I got honors at Drexel I thought I would die! She's an extremely understanding teacher who believes in children being sick. Attendance does not matter. As long as you read you'll be fine. I got an A. Just make nice and offer to carry things!

Good teacher. At first she comes off harsh in the beginning of the term. After a couple weeks she comes around when she realizes what kind of student you are. Her classes are interesting, and she is very understanding. Easy A.

If you're a business student looking for an easy A this is your ticket. You do have to read the plays but they're all popular plays hence easy to read. Prof is a little crazy and you may want to run screaming but the A was well worth the torture.

Miriam, is an awesome professor. After the 2nd week of class, she simmers down once she realizes who the serious students are.
She tells you what is going to be on both the Midterm and Final. But more than that...you end up leaving her class having tons of insight on things you never noticed before. She truly enlightens one.
Like I said, she is awesome!!! She also cares dearly about her students. I recommend her to anyone that takes the English language seriously.
