Cons: If you haven't take bio in years/didn't learn much in high school, you'll have to learn a lot of lingo quickly.
Multiple choice *cough*quizlet*cough* quizzes and tests. Several chances to take and retake quizzes and practice quizzes. Memorize the answers. Three midterms and a final. Didn't drop the lowest grade or give a curve. If you do the quizzes and extra credit well (google quickly), a 70 average on tests will be a B+ total grade.
Great personality
Humorous
Beautiful lady & great accent
Cons: None
Meshagae is one of my favorite professors at Drexel, despite not being a Bio major. Her lectures are fun and engaging, and it is very easy to get a good grade thanks to extra credit. I quickly fell in love with her fantastic Jamaican accent.
I also hold her in a very high regard because she allowed me to take a make-up exam despite oversleeping and missing one of the midterm exams. She didn't have to let me take the exam, and I believe in her syllabus it said no exam make-ups, but she clearly wants everyone to do well, and was willing to let me make up the exam. I will always be grateful to her for that.
Cons: large class, sometimes hard to pay attention
she is a great person! she has an actual personality, we had weekly quizzes and two midterms and one final, that was it, the clicker saves your grade no matter what it is as long as you try on the quizzes/ tests.
the clicker points are extra credit points that help you so much.
b) Quirky - it makes you want to pay attention to the class and makes it interesting.
Cons: a) EVERYTHING IS SO DAMN EXPENSIVE!!! Don't buy the textbook - if you really need it, download the pdf online. If anything, buy the clicker because you get extra credit for it.
I put that you never use the textbook but that's because this class is basically a high school biology class and I already know the material plus she puts her PowerPoints online and if you pay attention in lecture, you'll know everything. Amazing professor across the board. Plus her accent's awesome (don't worry, it's totally understandable.)
Cons: Exams are tough
Takes time to explain everything
Makes the questions and course very easy
Review and midterm and final questions were absolutely identical. So attending the review means that you should do well on the exam
Cons: Hard to maintain concentration in such a large class(not that you need it)
Disorganized
At first did not have a uniform question structure
Its a very very easy course so don't feel daunted or anything. For us studying the book was good enough, previous classes had detailed slides so it was enough to study those for them.
Just buy the clicker, and utilize most of the available extra credit. Read the chapters once with class and review before the exams and you should be good.
Oh and make sure you go to the exam reviews they cover a lot of the exam questions and if you listen to the answers and their explanations, you will have pretty much prepared for the exam.
Extra credit is a whole letter grade boost
students can put minimal effort and still get an A.
Class is 4.5 credits so its a definite GPA booster
Cons: accent makes me laugh
All her tests are based directly off the powerpoints. You don't need the book. None of the lab material is ever tested. They have separate online weekly quizzes.
If you buy a RSF clicker, every time you go to class, you get an extra credit point added to your FINAL grade. Meaning that if get an 85 as a final grade but brought the clicker to class 10 times, your final grade is 95!!
She has reviews before her midterms (there are 2) where she basically gives away 20 questions & answers for free.
She's a great woman, I'd retake any class she teaches!

The tests are pretty easy if you study the PowerPoint slides and/or the book. Our second test and final were online, so that's open note/book/wikipedia, etc.
The project is divided into three parts. It's pretty simple-research and make up a company that demonstrates being "green" in the world.
Each week you have a lab and a lab quiz due the week after. It's online so you can use sources like Wikipedia to get the right answers.
No homework or surprise quizzes. It's a straightforward class. Business majors have to take two science 151 courses, I highly recommend Dr. Brown for biology.
