Pros: This prof it's def. more relaxed than Hazem that teaches 201.
A good practice it's the program (My stat lab) he requires you to use for his class.
33% of your grade it's based on those questions that are due every week.
Cons: The program costs $80 and basically he spends all of his lecture time doing 2 or 3 questions out of the program. The test is online but from the same program. No curves but he does calculate your final if you did better than on the midterm as your only grade.
Very unorganized.

The class met once a week and there was a recitation with the TA. The lectures weren't really that helpful, good if you had a question about a homework problem. Online homework every week. You will learn most of the material by doing the homework problems. He uses R software to solve statistical problems and you will be expected to learn how to use it. Once you learn how to use it, this class becomes much easier. The exams are online and in-class using the same platform the homework is on (you bring your laptop). The problems are taken from the homework, so do the homework problems when studying.
The problems from first midterm were all from STAT 201 (probability, normal distribution, binominals, etc), which was pretty easy. He will consider giving additional credit after the exam if you appeal and show that you made small mistakes. He also allowed us to work through the exam again for an additional 10 points to the midterm. He gives extra credit in-class with PRS clickers. The final was the same format as the midterm except a little more difficult. Overall, an okay professor and somewhat easy A.

Pros: Good at explaining problems. Gives extra credit and curves.
Cons: Very, very, VERY inconsistent and unorganized with his lectures and material. I find it hard to take notes during lecture because he frequently jumps all over the place.
STAT 202 is a difficult course and Liechty does an okay job at teaching it. His tests are extremely difficult (class average was an F) and so curves were necessary. He does a decent job at preparing you for the exam but in the end its up to you to study. I was tempted to give him only 2 stars because his method of teaching is very unorganized which makes it extremely hard to follow. For 201 I had Hazem and wish he taught more 202 classes because at least Hazem was able to stay organized.

The exams and the assignment are super hard. He doesn't curve the grade even most of students fail the midterm. I can't understand his online video at all. He explains things really fast and vaguely. Highly recommend that do not take this course if you don't wanna get a C or B-.

STAT is not an easy course and Prof Liechty doesnt know how to make everyone concentrate in this hard and boring class.
He says he has heavy teaching burden. when i asked him questions, he wanted me to walk while talk. I dont blame him on this, but his behaviors make me uncomfortable.

His class are sometimes very straight forward, sometimes very boring and hard to understand.
His tests are most based on homework and notes, which is posted online after each lecture. You don't even have to go to class since he's using class videos but attendance does make a difference.

The lectures are somewhat boring but relevant to what will be seen on homeworks, quizes, and tests. Attendance is not required but it may help. Be careful though, his homeworks are long and tedious and not exactly easy but they are almost identical to the questions on his exams which are open book.

Oh man Liechty. When I took his class I thought he was ok. I'm retarded when it comes to math so this class was no exception. But he did try to make things interesting. I didn't mind going to his class even tho I was clueless. Plus his curve was FANTASTIC. I somehow got a B. So overall I'm quite satisfied with Dr. Liechty.
The following term however for stat202, I would have given anything to have him as a professor again. Comparing Liechty with Radson is pretty much like comparing God and Satan.
You're my boy Liechty!

he's a great teacher though many people complain to him but he listens. curves the hell out of the tests and class in general. He's nothing like radson. TRUST ME U WILL MISS HIM AFTER U START TAKING RADSON for stat 202!!!! his class is work wit the online quizzes but he gives u unlimited tries and extensions.

This guy is something special. He actually makes class fun and encourages active learning. But, first midterm was very unexpected and hard. He compensated that by applying a huge curve. He did so for second midterm and final also. Still, second midterm and final exam were pretty reasonable in terms of difficulty. Online quizzes were extended many times and we had unlimited number of tries to complete them. Would take him again if I got a chance.

Good teacher, he curves the hell out of everything, its easy to do well in his class. Attendance is required but homework isn't. His tests can be a little tough but he curves them big time. They are all multiple choice too. He can be boring but he tries to keep it interesting. He does everything online, grades, quizes and what not. He's overall a good teacher and an easy A or B.

If you are still thinking if you should take Liechty, you'd better just go ahead and register for his class. He is one of those rare instructors at Drexel's College of Business that you actually expect to meet when you come to college. You will learn a lot. You will also do a lot of work for this class, guaranteed! But he really cares for students and gives you a billion resources you can utilize, and a gazillion chances to improve your grade. Not to mention his notorious curve...basically, in order to flunk his tests you have to get a zero (!), because 1 point is usually enough to get you the D! Class in not exactly the most exciting, but this is stat, what else do you expect? Overall, you will learn a lot and it is almost impossible to fail...

There's a MASSIVE curve on the exams. Plus he has a system where if u do better on the 2nd midterm than the 1st, the second grade overtakes the 1st. The online quizzes are straight from the book and pretty easy (but the damn servers down half the time). Bunch of the others who gave bad ratings on this prof probably got to college with a GDA.

Knowledgable with statistics. Relates course material in monotone format. If you ask questions he will help you, but leaves you hanging if you need more help. Losey pha server services, textbook (overprice), must purchase IR transmitter.
Would not take again.

He changed his teaching style to fit the needs of his students. Curves all exam grades. I didn't have a choice in taking him and will have him for 202 and I'm not worried. Boring but pokes fun at himself a lot. I got an A with half a clue.

Obviously knowledgeable in the field, BUT occasionally inefficient in conveying topics, concepts, etc. He cares greatly that students stay motivated and keep progressing throughout the course. He rewarded improvement and was a fair grader.

I HATE STAT with a passion. I aced stat 1 at Camden County, and it was a miracle I got a C in his class. He was new when I took him, his initial teaching methods sucked but he finally used a more on hands, example centric approach after a few weeks. He curved the final and caved into our constant complaints to make it take home/open notes/book. In that respect he was fair and willing to listen if it was a mass uprising. The TAs were terrible, they just don't know how to teach.
