Okay, I'm gonna be fair as I think the two reviews above are too one sided and prof Lucy is not that bad.
Class: No electronics policy (I fell asleep once or twice). 2 quizzes, one paper, one midterm and one final (not cumulative).
She doesnt check attendance but if you dont go to her class, you wont be able to answer the exams. And as long as you come to class, no need to read the book. No homework.
2 quizzes: 10 questions each. (date/name of artwork/artist's name). You just have to memorize the whole thing. It's art history after all. However, she accepts the approximate date within +/- 100 years (it's gonna be a big help).
Midterm/Final: kinda same format but now you have to write something about the artworks too. Just come to class, listen and you'll be fine. Overall, its looking at the images and describe them in your own words.
Professor: She's an okay prof, not too good, not too bad. Just not a very inspiring one. I think its due to her lack of experience in teaching. (She has to look at her notes to see if she hits all the points) Still, she is young and passionate (easy to approach, helpful, try to memorize students' names), so things may be better in later courses. Sometimes she asks questions to get students more engaged in learning, but its a big classroom so it doesnt help that much.

Cons: You have to memorize EVERY SINGLE THING about the artworks you learn and there are tons of them. The lectures are extremely boring. Quizzes come with 10 questions (date/name of artwork/name of artist) . Midterm and Final are TOUGH with tons of things you have to deal with (3 parts, 10 questions p1, 6 questions and short essays p2, 2 compare essays p3 ). Believe me, if you dont like art history, just don't take it

She's kind of rude and won't hesitate to call you out personally if she sees you on your phone/computer/talking..even if you're whispering, so just be extra careful. She'll blatantly call you out in front of everyone if you get up and leave the class.. i mean yeah I guess it's rude to walk out of her class.. but sometimes people need to go to the bathroom. She doesn't take a attendance, so usually people will skip class... which she gets mad about but that's her own fault. Her lectures are really boring, and for tests she expects you to know the exact date of each painting which is kind of irritating. She does what she can for a course that's just boring on its own, so I give her credit for that.. but i just don't get why she has to be so rude and nasty sometimes.. try being a fun and engaging teacher who is nice.. maybe students will be GLAD to show up to your class
