Cons: ...Doc from back to the future.
Cons: Heavy accent.
He will assign problem per group and your group need to send a representative. Poor representative will be destroyed at the board even though your representative understand the problem and know how to solve it.
He can not see and hear properly.
While you are doing his problem that he assigns to you, he will give you a stupid lecture, so you one ear listen his lecture and another half of your brain solve problem at the same time. Avoid him if you can.
Cons: hard to understand, very particular about doing problems his way
I had him for recitation. He makes you do the recitation problems in class as a group (usually with those you're sitting next to) to collect them at the end of class after one of you does it on the board. I guess that is how he takes attendance. However, during the class (while you're scrambling to get the problem done) he lectures for an unnecessarily complicated and hard to understand hour. I honestly haven't paid attention to one of them and I still ended up getting an A in the course by only following Tretiak's lecture power points (with a generous curve of course). Really do the recitation problems. God bless whoever goes up to the board. He will destroy you if you don't understand the problem or if you do understand the problem and don't do it EXACTLY the way he wants you to do it. If you can avoid taking him, for your sake please do so.
Cons: can't understand him
He's definitely not one of the professors that you need to avoid to wait for a better professor.
A recommendation would be to go to the TA for help and do not wait until you do poorly to do so. The exams were not tricky and if you do the homework, you'll be fine.
Would retake.
