- I turned in late assignments all the time, which was OK for him
-He's approachable
Cons: -Sometimes I wonder if he's just staring off talking to himself, hes pretty comfortable babbling the whole period
-If you want a A, you really have to work for it
Cionca's class was very chill and low stress. Most of the time he preferred to talk the entire class time, mostly about the projects and it's expectations/possible topics/analysis- which are all pretty relevant and helpful when it comes to writing the paper if you pay attention to his lectures. However I did find myself dosing off a few times in class because it wasn't interactive. He did bring up a couple of class discussions for everyone to participate in where he inquired the opinions and standings of every student. There was one quiz given that was T/F 10 questions pretty easy if you read the chapter he assigns it too. Other than that I didn't read much of the other assigned readings. His grading is OK, and his feedback is constructive. I ended up getting a B+ for both my papers which was mildly disappointing but fine.
Professor Watts reads most drafts of projects and comments on them. If need be, Professor Watts allows students to resubmit projects.
Cons: His critiques may seem harsh, but he only wants his students to be able to communicate their ideas clearly.
Professor Watts is not a conventional English professor! The projects are simple, but involve more critical thinking than they appear. By the end of the course I saw major improvements in my writing. I'm glad I took the course.
helps you when you go see him
Cons: doesnt give anyone pass a 90 unless you're really lucky or that great of a writer
got A- from him for 102 & 101, he's okay, chilled, but sometimes can go on about topics. if you do your work should get an A or B. also he keeps you for the full amount of time
Can turn in work late
Cons: Pretentious
If you miss 3 classes you fail
Talks the entire class
Lots of reading
Go to class and do all the informal writings, and you'll do okay. Take the group project seriously, too.
