Pros: I really like how he is teaching. If you're doing hw's and understand them, you will be fine at the exam. Exams not that bad

Pros: good teacher, very thorough, teaches a lot of useful information
Cons: spends too much time deriving things that you really dont need, loads the work up especially at the end of the term
good teacher, he makes the class sound really hard and intimidating because he says he doesnt curve, but he actually does curve. the class was hard because 65% of your overall grade came in the last week of the term, but he cares very much about his students and is understanding. i would take him again

Pros: He's one of the best Professors in the Chem E Dept. He gives out notes(personally prepared and handwritten by him), and his knowledge is astounding. He is a very approachable lecturer, and he will not ridicule you no matter how stupid your questions are. Take advantage of his office hours, he will ensure that the homework and materials given in class are driven towards midterms and final exam.
Cons: None.

Apparently this class was hard the year before I took it. I think the material taught was reasonable, and Lau definitly stepped up his game. He always asked what we thought about quizzes (if they were too long or not long enough), he also gave us copies of ALL the notes. There were many examples he gave that were not in the book, these were very helpful to review before a quiz or test. I think Prof. Lau might not be the most exciting teacher, but he definitly tries to answer all your questions.
