Cons: None
What an amazing lady, and what knowledge. You just want to go to her class to learn! She shares her experiences from her research in other countries, and you learn so much from the stories. I wish to take another course with her. Great respect.
Extremely light workloads
She is a very nice person
Cons: None
Come on guys, Judith already cancelled her tests/quizzes/book reports (at least for the 2013 fall term), and there were only three things counted for our grade: 1. attendance, 2.weekly discussion post, and 3. group final presentation. If you would not get an A/A+ from her class, there would be now way for you to survive from Drexel (just joking).
Discussion posts are easy, if you read the material
The assignments are almost entirely shown right at the start of the class, so you can work on them when you want
Very forgiving of absences, if you talk with her about your reasons. It doesn't have to be anything dramatic - if you're on top of the material, she'll be fine with you skipping class to have fun.
Cons: Often cancels class unexpectedly, on short notice - can be a hassle for commuters.
Group projects
Readings can be dry
She's a genuinely interesting character. It seems as though she's genuinely open to the idea that magic may be real, while at the same time, she's incredibly shrewd and skeptical of poorly disciplined archaeological work. If you take a class with her, I think you'll be glad just to have met her.
Easy grader
Makes the topics interesting
Cons: None
By homework, I mean there's a discussion post once a week that you post online. These are graded easy. And by project, I mean there's one final essay at the end of the term, which was also not graded hard. The midterm exam is pretty straight forward. Attendance is required, but if you send her an e-mail explaining why you were absent (vacation, illness, etc.) she doesn't take off points for absences. She cancels class sometimes (class was cancelled five times during the term) which can be a nice break. And honestly she really does make the subject interesting to learn about. Overall I'd really recommend this class and her as a teacher.
Easy Assignments
Interesting Material
Cons: None
By far one of the most laid-back classes I've had at Drexel and I was able to retain some useful information in the process. Class was boring at times, but also was really interesting at times as well. Discussion Posts every week and one small book report and final presentation. Easy A
Cons: Can't think of any.
Take this course for several reasons: One, you will be entertained by her: Two, you will learn more from this class than from reading a textbook: Three, you will appreciate what you have: Four, She grades based on what you give back to the class.........
I actually rating her on Anthro 101 which was not in the list above.
Cons: she takes attendance every class, so don't miss any because attendance is 25 %
Cons: Online posts have to be made every week. Attendance is mandatory -she takes role.
Some people may think she's a bit negative toward westerners but whatever she says is very true and shouldn't offend anybody. I think most minorities would agree with her and a few of the majority will ever understand.
She cares about students and is a good person.
she is very helpful and she uses WebCt which makes life real easy.
ask around about her and you will hear only good things.
