Pros: Don't want to sound biased, but absolutely none. Maybe if you hold his cat hostage you could try and get a fair grade.
Cons: Pompous, arrogant, bully. Takes tough grading to another level. Waste of money - hoping Drexel reads ALL these bad comments and fires him.

Pros: -He likes the Flyers and seems like the kind of guy you could have a drink with and then get really creeped out about how much he talks about his cats.
Cons: - He is a hard ass grader, his own words.
- His attitude, as such, is not conducive to learning.
- As far as the hybrid class he teaches, I have not learned a thing from him.
Don't mistake me, simply being a hard grader by no means makes him a poor teacher. Spending half of the class telling us why we are not good writers does. It is one thing to tell us where we have gone wrong and specific ways that we can fix our writing and another to yell at us when we do not meet his standards from the start. I took his dark humor and satire themed classes, for the subject not him. He has since ruined Fight Club, A Modest Proposal, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and pretty much the written word in general for me.
If by some mistake you do choose his class meet with constantly and go to the writing center as if your life depended on it. He required 200 word response posts, he wanted that split up over two and I failed to do that on a few occasions and as such have a D.
He told me to write this up. He wants you to believe he is a cool, tough guy, that he is straight out of a bad college movie. He is not fun. He is not a particularly good teacher. Maybe in a real English as opposed to a hybrid he might be able to help you, once he gets over himself and how great he is and how intuitive his cats are.
I hope you check these and feel good Josh. I really do hope you enjoyed some of my writing. I no longer feel the need to impress or even satisfy you. When you write something great I will read it. I guess I was wrong, Сергей Андреевич Бобровский will probably play another season.

Pros: He likes the Flyers and cats.
Cons: Everything else. Very pretentious, boastful, demeaning. Compared to other, better, higher rated professors, he is significantly tougher at grading. Post requirements are outrageous for hybrid.

This guy is a class A prick. He's unforgiving, rude, sarcastic, condescending and not at all compassionate. On top of all this he's a hard-ass grader who won't accept anything even a minute late, whether or not you were at fault.
If you're late, just leave. He'll mark you absent. If you forget a book or forget to print out an article, go home. He'll mark you absent. If you have pneumonia, you'd better drag yourself to class or you'll be dropped an entire letter grade for missing class.

Do not take English with Isard unless you are a perfect student and are a pretty good writer. He tries to be cool with students by talking about South Park and the Phillies, but he's not nice at all when it comes to academic matters. If you're absent/late/unprepared for class more than once, he drops you an entire letter grade, no excuses accepted. If you're not a great writer, he will give you a bad grade. If you are a good writer and you use what he teaches you to improve your writing, then and only then will you have any hope of getting an A from him.

By far the worst teacher that I have ever had.
I took multiple AP writting courses in HS and am a good writter. I found myself spending 5-6 hours writting an essay and another 2-3 revising it so that I could then get a C on the paper. He will give you feedback on the rough draft, and if you change everything he pointed out, you'll get a 72. Prepare to work 10x harder than your friends who were smart enough to find another section and get a signifigantly lower grade.
STAY AWAY!

This pompous instructor is just a joke. He's rude to students, takes Eng10- too seriously and expects engineers and business majors to produce material that would be submitted to the New York Post. Get real. He acts like a jerk in class and then turns around and cracks jokes that aren't funny. Then comments about how laughing at his jokes is part of our grade, which also isn't funny. In my future years at Drexel, I will do my best to stay away from this cocky and arrogant teacher.
The only reason I didn't give him a zero is because he has a well found knowledge in Composition, but can not express it without attempting to humiliate you.

Definitely the professor to take if you like a structured class. He doesn't assign a ton of work but definitely expects you to take the time to do the work he assigns. He will teach you how to write a good essay and allows you to use creativity in your writing. Much better than the majority of the hybrid teachers. The class goes by pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend this teacher, especially if this is your first time taking a hybrid class.

Professor Isard is one of the few English Professors who actually knows what he is doing. He does make a point to tell the class how stupid we are on a daily bases. However, his grading is fair and his directions are always clear. He responds to emails and is always willing to help. I had him for English 101 and now I really wish I had him for English 102!!!

Isard can be a jerk but his bark is worse than his bite. Just watch your grammar and do your work the way he wants it to be done and you will be okay. It is an easy A if you show up and double check your work.

The reason I didnt give him a zero is because he did try to teach and did grade our papers. The only thing I could actually say is that he does know his ENGLISH and writing. Other than that, he was way too cocky, rude, unwavering, and sometimes just an jerk.
I am still upset with Drexel for employing someone like this. How much money did I just waste to take a very disheartening class?
Hopefully he can grow up some day and act like a respectful teacher instead of trying to bully his students into respecting him.
I bet his brother is a better teacher than he is.
I would NEVER take him again even if he was teaching the last class I needed to graduate. I would sit the postpone graduation and wait for a new teacher.

if by some chance you get him for the hybrid class, RUN FOR THE HILLS! miss 1 class, highest grade possible is a B. He is overly pretentious then tries to be cool and relate to students by talking about the phillies. basically if you want a miserable english class, stay in it. It was too late for me, so i will try and bestow my knowledge upon the rest of you.

Good teacher but a hard grader. He wants very academic papers and there isn't much room to be creative. But overall he is much better than most of the teachers here.
