Cons: Pompous, arrogant, bully. Takes tough grading to another level. Waste of money - hoping Drexel reads ALL these bad comments and fires him.
Cons: - He is a hard ass grader, his own words.
- His attitude, as such, is not conducive to learning.
- As far as the hybrid class he teaches, I have not learned a thing from him.
Don't mistake me, simply being a hard grader by no means makes him a poor teacher. Spending half of the class telling us why we are not good writers does. It is one thing to tell us where we have gone wrong and specific ways that we can fix our writing and another to yell at us when we do not meet his standards from the start. I took his dark humor and satire themed classes, for the subject not him. He has since ruined Fight Club, A Modest Proposal, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and pretty much the written word in general for me.
If by some mistake you do choose his class meet with constantly and go to the writing center as if your life depended on it. He required 200 word response posts, he wanted that split up over two and I failed to do that on a few occasions and as such have a D.
He told me to write this up. He wants you to believe he is a cool, tough guy, that he is straight out of a bad college movie. He is not fun. He is not a particularly good teacher. Maybe in a real English as opposed to a hybrid he might be able to help you, once he gets over himself and how great he is and how intuitive his cats are.
I hope you check these and feel good Josh. I really do hope you enjoyed some of my writing. I no longer feel the need to impress or even satisfy you. When you write something great I will read it. I guess I was wrong, СеÑгей ÐндÑÐµÐµÐ²Ð¸Ñ ÐобÑовÑкий will probably play another season.
Cons: Everything else. Very pretentious, boastful, demeaning. Compared to other, better, higher rated professors, he is significantly tougher at grading. Post requirements are outrageous for hybrid.
If you're late, just leave. He'll mark you absent. If you forget a book or forget to print out an article, go home. He'll mark you absent. If you have pneumonia, you'd better drag yourself to class or you'll be dropped an entire letter grade for missing class.
I took multiple AP writting courses in HS and am a good writter. I found myself spending 5-6 hours writting an essay and another 2-3 revising it so that I could then get a C on the paper. He will give you feedback on the rough draft, and if you change everything he pointed out, you'll get a 72. Prepare to work 10x harder than your friends who were smart enough to find another section and get a signifigantly lower grade.
STAY AWAY!
The only reason I didn't give him a zero is because he has a well found knowledge in Composition, but can not express it without attempting to humiliate you.
I am still upset with Drexel for employing someone like this. How much money did I just waste to take a very disheartening class?
Hopefully he can grow up some day and act like a respectful teacher instead of trying to bully his students into respecting him.
I bet his brother is a better teacher than he is.
I would NEVER take him again even if he was teaching the last class I needed to graduate. I would sit the postpone graduation and wait for a new teacher.
