Nice guy.
Cons: If you understand something early on, his repetitiveness gets redundant.

Such a nice guy and easy exam! Not the best lecturer though, but meet him during office hours and he helps you a lot and you will get an A.

Dr. Trout will always go out of his way to help you understand the material he teaches, his lectures may not be the most inspiring but they will prepare you for the test. All you have to do is put in the time and Dr. Trout will help you as much as you need it.

if you're a bio major and you're only taking physics because it's required-trout is the guy for you. HIS TESTS ARE EXACTLY THE REVIEW SESSION/PRACTICE TEST...if you don't ace this class then you didn't put the effort in learning the material that's basically spoonfed to you. reading quizzes are cake-just get the gist of every chapter (don't read for actual formulas just read the non-math parts)...lab quizzes you kind of have to study for...he only assigns like one homework problem a week so its pretty cake. HES EASY SERIOUSLY TRUST ME YOU DONT DO ANY WORK aND ACE THE CLASS TAKE HIM. IM NOT EVEN THAT GOOD AT PHYSICS AND I ACED IT.

Trout was the best physics teacher I ever had! He has an amazing willingness to help students after class and has plenty of review sessions. He made 2 review sessions, two hours each, on the same day so that students could find a time to come...his wife sat in the back waiting for him b/c it was their anniversary. This is how incrediably devoted this professor is to his students. The tests were really fair and he even gave some of the problems and concentrations at his review sessions (to help out the hardworking students). Lectures were a bit long and boring but that is because he had a lot of slides. I was so mad to find out that he was not able to teach our physics152 course. Finegold's class was just all over the place. Trout gave great preparation for the MCATS!

Dr. Trout is probably one of the best teachers you'll get in college. He makes Physics pretty easy to understand with the review sessions he holds (which by the way tell you the exact kinds of problems on the tests). He's very understanding of the hectic schedule of students; I thought the labs were not, and unless you do the homework problems before recitation, it's pointless to go. The lectures are dry (I had him once a week for two hours) only because he used so many slides per lecture, but in an effort to make sure the material was clear. He wants all of his students to do well, even if he has 150 students in his class. I highly recommend taking his class if anyone has the chance.

Trout is a really caring teacher. There are lots of resources for students that aren't good at physics. Joe Trout wants everyone to get an A+. The tests can get difficult if you don't keep up though, as in any class.
