He's a good lecturer and very knowledgeable .
Cons: Class can be boring and the textbook is a drag to read.
Overall nice guy
Cons: Amount of homework varies per night (sometimes light, other times heavy)
Boring
Professor Seitz knows what he is talking about and is a nice and helpful guy, but his lectures are so boring. End-of-term project is ridiculous with the number of parts we have to submit. Overall, he isn't that bad, just don't expect an interesting or exciting class.
Cons: Tests cover material he doesn't cover in class
Cons: Hard exam. Goes fast. he is ok
- Offers outside help
- Chance of extra credit
Cons: - Speaks fast in class
- Difficult quizzes/exams
- Mainly independent reading
Overall, if you donât mind teaching yourself the material, then go for it. There is a lot of reading and concepts that you need to memorize in order to score high on the test. He does not properly prepare for the students to score high on the quizzes and exams. The answers to the quizzes are a mixture of in-class lectures and the textbook, but it seems to all primarily come from obscure parts of the reading instead. Attendance is not mandatory so you do not have to go which could be a good or bad thing to you. Make sure you use the textbook resources online and use just their practice quizzes to help you remember the information. Study hard in advance and you should do fine, but I would recommend anyone else over him if you have trouble self-teaching (which is sad because he gets paid to teachâ¦)
Cons: There is no chronological order to this class whatsoever.
He is a very nice guy. I must say that for trying to cram so much information into 10 weeks he does a fairly good job although those test were difficult if you neglected the readings or didn't attend the lectures.
Cons: Must go to lecture and pay attention
-Provides powerpoints
-Will cut you some slack if you need it
Cons: -Hard exams
-Doesn't teach subject in chronological order
-Can be hard to keep up with while taking notes
I've heard a lot of people say that they don't like Professor Seitz's class, but I don't think it is as bad as people let on. He does speak a bit fast during his lectures, and a lot of people I know don't like that he prefaces his lectures with a long explanation of what he's about to cover. However, I think he's only doing it in an effort to make sure everyone understand what he's about to discuss. His exams are difficult, but I studied harder for the second midterm than I did for the first, and I saw my grade rise. Overall, I would say his class isn't easy, but it's nothing to avoid; you'll just have to be willing to put a little bit of effort in.
Cons: Exam's are relatively hard and vague in terms of study material. Lots of reading.
He's really passionate about history which is great if your into it as well but for 162 which is required for many it was just boring. There's no reason to go to lecture in my opinion, he doesn't take attendance and you can get almost all the material from the book. The readings are sometimes long and boring but just do it to get the grade.
Cons: WORST TEACHER EVER
DROPPED EVERYONES GPA'S
