Overall, she is an awesome professor. If you don't do your work, she will probably embaress you in front of the class, but that's on you! She will always spend extra time with her students, and with his first language not being Spanish, she knows how to better teach the grammar than any of the other Spanish professors. Every Spanish class has a lot of work, so it is no different with her class.
She is the best Spanish professor at Drexel University by far.
By the way I had her for SPAN 311- NOT 203

For some reason SPAN 311 did not come up on the list, but I had SPAN 311 with profesora. I think she is by FAR the best spanish professor at Drexel University. For 201, 202, and 203 I didn't have the best experience with my other professors as I felt they didn't explain the grammar very well, but profesora is always giving out handouts, and will ALWAYS take the time to explain something to you.
I would highly recommend taking her class over all of the other professors. She is a great teacher, and you will actually enjoy the class!

LOVED having this class with her. She does have an accent as she is Polish, but it did not make her hard to understand. She is always really funny and enthusiastic during class, and wants to help all of her students grasp the material. Sometimes it seems like she can be a little hard to follow, but she will always get her point across in the end. In addition to the 4 chapter exams and comprehension quizzes throughout, there were 3 compositions, with a first draft turned in and corrected, then a final draft submitted and graded. She is very approachable and friendly, so if you are worried about taking a language class or looking to have more fun with it, she would be a great professor to look out for.

Loved her! She is very lively and actually has fun activities mixed in with lectures. Her tests were pretty easy as long as you kept up with the material.

Joanna is a pretty good professor. She has a bit of an accent, but it's not that bad. She really cares about her students, and is always willing to offer additional help. I thought the class was pretty easy, and I feel that I didn't put in all that much effort to get my A.

Prof Lyskowicz is super nice and tries really hard to make the class fun. The people in it are just stupid and drag the course down. The presentations are super easy; the tests are medium - study for them enough and it shouldn't be a problem.
The only complaint I have is that she never told us what homework was due the next class and then expected it.

Joanna was a fantastic teacher!! She definitely taught a lot of material, and made sure that we understood it all. She was very nice, and we did more than just lecture. We watched movies, gave presentations and had "debates". She definitely makes it fun, and she helps develop your speaking techniques!! Would DEFINITELY take her again

I thought she was a very good teacher. Her grading was fair, her knowledge of spanish was good and conveyed the proper grammar and way to speak well. She only gets frustrated if she notices that you're not doing the work (ie. online assignments or don't get the book right away). I would take her again.

Joanna was a great teacher. Our class was behind in grammar and she really cleared things up for me. I thought she was fair and cared about her students. I had no difficulty understanding her.

As a teacher Joanna was difficult to understand. It was a combination of her accent as well as her inability to clearly express how different spanish concepts work. She isn't very nice either, she expects a lot out of every student and gets frustrated easily. There was a lot of homework including the online workbook and lab and homework she would hand us in class. There were also three compositions, a chapter test for the four two chapters and a midterm and a final (which wasn't cummulative). Really shes the only teacher you can have depending on your level of Spanish so you have to settle for her as a teacher

She's... OK. She was nice enough, but all you do is go around the room and say the book exercises out loud. This class was very boring, and I didn't learn anything. Also, she wears really inappropriate clothes... kinda strange.

she was nice during the first half of the class, but later on she started to get reallly mean. she blows up n yells at the class when one person makes a small mistake, and jus seems tempermental in general. i didn't mind her in the beginning of the term, but i was counting the days til the class ended towards the end of the term.
also, in the first half of the class she doesn't grade your papers, she jus gives you credit for doing it. but after the midterm she begins to grade them - VERY unfairly. she takes way too many points off for miniscule errors.
overall, avoid taking her if you can.
