Classes are interesting.
He is very kind and considerate.
If you have a question, he does a good job of breaking the concepts down even further to explain.
Cons: The notes are not as thorough as some of the other professors, so it is necessary to go to classes to understand them.
He simplifies things a bit too much at times.
GO TO CLASS. If you have Aran, it really is worth it to go to class. Online videos may be shorter, but classes give you the exact type of problems that the quizzes and exams will use and you have more time to let it 'sink in'.
Cons: NONE
Cons: Exams contain problems not covered in his lectures, or sometimes in the textbook. He likes to test your knowledge of the concepts.
I would recommend this professor, a great teacher.
Cons: Some of the exam questions are multiple choice which kind of screwed my grade over. They are worth 4 or 5 points each so no partial credit is given for the wrong answer. I thought the exams were a little unfair.
Cons: goes fast sometimes and often promises to have notes/lectures posted online by a certain date but never actually posts them up
Jason is an amazing professor and I definitely recommend anyone taking calc to take him. He sometimes goes through class quickly but his notes are so clear that you can understand everything. His online notes are awesome as well but sometimes he doesn't post up the answer keys to worksheets on time but its no big deal. If you do all the homework problems from the online worksheets and ask for help on them, you are guranteed a solid grade in the course. Sometimes, the homework problems assigned are much harder than the actual exam. Also I recommend taking Jason b/c sometimes the worksheets he gives in class have problems that are found on the exams. Overall, he's a really kind and cool teacher and just take his class if you have the chance.
- Intelligent
Cons: NONE
Greatest Math teacher I've ever had. He is intelligent, thus giving lecture in a way that make things really easy to understand. Know all the things he teaches in class, and you will pass the exam with good grades. Jason, I love you!
Cons: none really, but the tests are multiple choice. There can be a couple trick questions he puts on the exams.
- really loves math
- great especially if math isn't your strongest subject
- super super nice guy!
Cons: - none!
Hands down the best math teacher I've ever had. Jason Aran has the uncanny ability to explain complex math concepts in the more understandable terms. I had taken Trig and Calc in high school and got good grades, but always struggled to do so. Jason really opened my eyes to how math truly makes sense. You can easily feel his passion and love for the subject, and I haven't met a single student who disagrees!
Cons: He often finishes the schedule before other classes, which makes students sometimes feel hard to catch up with all the knowledge provided in the course.
Cons: nothing at all.
The guy knows what he is doing and does his job very well. if you need a math professor, Jason is the one. you will not regret it. TAKE HIM
His class is very easy to follow
Jason is very cute, and he smiles all the time
Cons: Nothing!
I am very lucky to have Jason as my Math 101 instructor this term. At him, you can see the passion for Math. He does really care about students, and help you whenever you need. Email him your questions, and you will receive the reply very fast. I want him for my Math 102 next term; however, he is assigned just for the Math 122 classes. So jealous with people studying Math 122 for having him the next term.
In addition, he has given me the inspiration that I've decided to do minor in Math after a longtime considering. I hope I would have more time talking to him even when I'm not in his classes anymore.
Cons: none that I can think of!
Jason Aran is literally the best math teacher I have ever had. Though Math 101 was a relatively easy course compared to the calculus and such I had taken in high school, Jason Aran is amazing at explaining how to do the problems and engaging the entire class. He offers any and all help you need. You can really see and feel his passion for math and for the first time in my life I didn't hate going to math class!
barely any work
Cons: quiz every friday
-explains all methods thoroughly
-very nice
-easy grader
-gives a lot of partial credit
-does not require the homework to be completed
-is very caring of his students
-usually lets out VERY early
-never takes attendance
Cons: -when he keeps the class the whole time- very boring
-are required to buy the 1100 dollar online textbook but never use the text book unless you are a nerd
He was an amazing professor. He is young and can easily relate to his students. He does not take attendance and usually goes over things more than once so if you miss a class or two you will be completely fine. I never used the text book, nor did i need to. The whole class is very easy material to grasp, its all conversions and dimensional analysis. I would recommend this class!
