Cons: Class is comparable to pulling teeth out
Her opinions are outrageously stupid and ill-informed
Participation is insisted upon
She offers no feedback
You will never talk about anything pertaining to English, writing, etc.
FWP goals will not be met
You will probably want to pierce your ear drums with a mechanical pencil by the end of the first class session
If you actually want to learn something, or like writing/reading, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. You will learn absolutely nothing, and she will probably ruin your opinion of academia, if it isn't ruined already. Her class is nothing more than a hodge-podge of her own rants and raves, extending from how the shooting at Newtown, CT was Adam Lanza's neighbors' faults, to how children with Multiple Sclerosis are just drama-queens, to her own family's suicidal behavior. If you try to disagree with her, she will tell you that you're wrong, because you're a simple college student and she has "more experience."
The worst part? She thinks she's funny. She'll repeat these rants over and over, "in case she didn't tell this class," like it's some hip inside joke. NEWS FLASH, PROFESSOR: your offensive, piggish humor just makes you look more dim-witted and narrow-minded.
If you want an easy A, go for it! Just prepare yourself to the storm 'o stupid that is Hazel Cooper-Watts.
Cons: A bit scatter brained
Gives a good amount of time on projects
Grades somewhat generously
Cons: Never stays on topic (in class)
Will NEVER respond to emails
Online assignments are sometimes unclear (as to what's due when)
I've taken her for every English class so far because of the reduced work load, but this teacher is not for everyone. The class discussions are almost completely unrelated to what we're supposed to be learning about (topics ranging from polar bears, to Justin Bieber, to religion, etc.). The assignments can be extremely unclear at times (what to do, due date) and you can't email her about them because she never responds. I take her classes because of the small workload relatively easy projects. If you do the weekly assignments and do good on the couple projects, this should be an easy class. If you're actually looking to understand the material (which isn't necessarily required to do well on the projects), this is not the class for you. I've learned pretty much nothing in all the classes I've taken with her and they were all pretty frustrating at times, but I got an A in every one.
Cons: none
Cons: so scatter brained at times
As a person: Wonderful. She is hilarious and makes every class fly by.
Even though she doesn't teach...It's English 102...there is really nothing to teach. You write the paper according the instructions and get a grade (and she grades easily).
one of my friends emailed her their already graded essays for feedback and the prof thought it was revised and gave her a better grade!! she has no grading criteria .. she leaves no feedback on papers ..
she had two eng 103 classes last term and the day time class had more time to write their papers and had ZERO pop quizzes where as the night class had 5
