If you want to learn, she is there for you. She takes you into intellectual pursuits with humor. Of course, she has opinions but she always encourages students to join in the conversation. If you want to just follow the course and get a grade--and leave out the thinking part--take someone else.

Pros: Well, at least it was easy...
Cons: Class is comparable to pulling teeth out
Her opinions are outrageously stupid and ill-informed
Participation is insisted upon
She offers no feedback
You will never talk about anything pertaining to English, writing, etc.
FWP goals will not be met
You will probably want to pierce your ear drums with a mechanical pencil by the end of the first class session
If you actually want to learn something, or like writing/reading, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. You will learn absolutely nothing, and she will probably ruin your opinion of academia, if it isn't ruined already. Her class is nothing more than a hodge-podge of her own rants and raves, extending from how the shooting at Newtown, CT was Adam Lanza's neighbors' faults, to how children with Multiple Sclerosis are just drama-queens, to her own family's suicidal behavior. If you try to disagree with her, she will tell you that you're wrong, because you're a simple college student and she has "more experience."
The worst part? She thinks she's funny. She'll repeat these rants over and over, "in case she didn't tell this class," like it's some hip inside joke. NEWS FLASH, PROFESSOR: your offensive, piggish humor just makes you look more dim-witted and narrow-minded.
If you want an easy A, go for it! Just prepare yourself to the storm 'o stupid that is Hazel Cooper-Watts.

Pros: Great Professor. Makes class fun and certainly an easy way. I'm a business major so English is not my strong suit but I still got an A for the class.

Pros: Doesn't give a lot of work
Gives a good amount of time on projects
Grades somewhat generously
Cons: Never stays on topic (in class)
Will NEVER respond to emails
Online assignments are sometimes unclear (as to what's due when)
I've taken her for every English class so far because of the reduced work load, but this teacher is not for everyone. The class discussions are almost completely unrelated to what we're supposed to be learning about (topics ranging from polar bears, to Justin Bieber, to religion, etc.). The assignments can be extremely unclear at times (what to do, due date) and you can't email her about them because she never responds. I take her classes because of the small workload relatively easy projects. If you do the weekly assignments and do good on the couple projects, this should be an easy class. If you're actually looking to understand the material (which isn't necessarily required to do well on the projects), this is not the class for you. I've learned pretty much nothing in all the classes I've taken with her and they were all pretty frustrating at times, but I got an A in every one.

As a teaching professor: Horrible. She teaches practically nothing.
As a person: Wonderful. She is hilarious and makes every class fly by.
Even though she doesn't teach...It's English 102...there is really nothing to teach. You write the paper according the instructions and get a grade (and she grades easily).

I had this teacher first term freshman year. It was my worst class by far. Although the work load was not too bad and she is an easy grader, she doesn't do anything to make class interesting. She thinks that all students are lazy and not intelligent. She doesn't care about her students. She has a very negative and jaded view of life and it comes out in class. Do not take her!

so this teacher talks on n on about nothin that has to do with anything .. she gives out more pop quizzes than she says she will .. is really unfair in grading ...
one of my friends emailed her their already graded essays for feedback and the prof thought it was revised and gave her a better grade!! she has no grading criteria .. she leaves no feedback on papers ..
she had two eng 103 classes last term and the day time class had more time to write their papers and had ZERO pop quizzes where as the night class had 5

I really liked this teacher because she was real. Her classes arent just about the essays but you actually do things in there. I know people that hated her but because they didn't get easy A's as they had hoped. Do the essays and take them seriously without goofing off and you will do fine. I would retake this class if I had to.

seems like she could be a nice lady but shes a bitch in class to the people who didnt take her before. Grading is ridiculous and she doesnt explain why she gave you the grade you got on papers. Cant control the class so she takes it out on others. Never retake again
