Pros: Clearly understands what he is talking about. Is more than willing to hook you up with research. Does a lot of example problems
Cons: Cannot lecture for his life. He skips parts of topics so you do not understand them, or things that build off them.
He is a researcher, not a lecturer.

The workload is light if you are a chemistry genius and have no problem understanding concepts from the powerpoint slides. I had to work on my own to study up and know what was going on. If you have Dr. Ji, there is not really a point in going to his lectures, he reads straight off the powerpoint and is hard to understand due to his pronounced accent. However, he likes to do demonstrations and sometimes asks students to teach. If a student knows what's going on, those classes are well worth going to. He also mentioned something about summer research in the chemistry department, so if you're interested in that, go to lecture. It's easy to do work for other classes, and it doesn't hurt to attend lecture.

Pros: He will answer your specific questions.
Cons: If you're not in the mood to learn chem, you wont.
He has an accent. He is the honors teacher: I guess they expect us to learn it on our own.

I took him for Chem 101 to get Honors credit and instead went to King's lectures. Ji is pretty bad - avoid him!

Ji is an awesome guy but let’s face it, you don’t learn anything from lectures. If you have Ji either go to King’s lectures or don’t go at all. If you love Chemistry he teaches a lot of cool information that won’t be on the test. If you are stuck with him though, try to read up on the chapters before class so you know what he is talking about since he will not teach ANY background information. He expects that you already took AP Chem in high school since it is an honors lecture

Pros: This guy has the funniest accent.
Cons: He is a terrible professor. I fell asleep in his class quite frequently. I tried fairly hard in his class and got a B+, whereas I had Dan King in 101 and easily got an A.
Avoid Ji like the plague.

Pros: Easy class if you study.
The OWLs (no matter how much I hate them) help a lot in prepping for exams. There are always practice tests on BbVista for you to do in order to study.
Cons: Lecture is kind of boring. and useless. You really don't have to go. Just study by yourself and you'll get by with an A (if you actually study. )Not a good teacher, but he's nice guy, with a surprisingly silly sense of humor, who seems quite knowledgeable. Towards the end of the year, he started doing cool experiements which made lecture a smidge better. Some people were really affectd by his accent, but to me, it was not a problem-thought it was kind of adorable.
Daniel King is much better. Take him if you can.

Pros: Knows the material. If you read the book for the basics, you can learn a lot from his lectures.
Cons: Sometimes difficult to understand (don't think English is his first language). Sometimes skips around through notes, making it difficult to follow.
Lectured for the only honors section the term I took him. My second time through chem (took AP in high school) and I was able to learn a good bit of supplemental information that wasn't in the book or on the tests.
