Pros: Prof. Booker knows the material very well, and teaches it well. If you have questions, he seems to try to avoid outright giving you the answer, but he definitely helps you (hoping you will come to the answer on your own ultimately). The biggest pro in my eyes is he lays out exactly what he expects from you.
Cons: Tough grader, yes, but see the General Comments section
For his course's major project (and every homework assignment I might add), he provided a sheet laying out every detail your final outcome should include. I just used this as a checklist, leaving nothing unchecked, and recieved an A- for the project. So yeah...he is a bit of a tough grader, but its no excuse for doing poorly when he explicitly tells you what he is looking for while grading.

I really enjoyed the class with Dr. Booker. The assignments are very straightforward and easy to understand, though not necessarily easy to do - I was in Group S, so dealing only with the Return on Software textbook. He grades things within a week of receiving them. Participation isn't a big chore. He's always willing to answer questions and is very pleasant and easy to speak with.

Pros: Exam content comes straight from powerpoints
Cons: Hard grader
Booker is one of those teachers that you really only want to have once in your time at Drexel. It's really hard to get anything better than a C+ in his classes but if you do manage to do well you should have learned a decent amount.

if you don't have to take it, don't. if you do, try and find another professor - he wasn't too bad, but hey not they easiest.

Pros: Lectures could be worse.
Cons: Impossible to please.
Most difficult grader I have ever had.
Homework assignments and exams are very vaguely worded, leaving you unsure of what exactly he wants.
Almost never curves: Only curved one exam by 10 points and most people still ended up with C's and D's.
He grades based on minutiae and will often give little to no partial credit. If you get a question 80% correct, he will grade it as if you got it 100% incorrect.
Does not seem concerned that almost half of the class's final grades were D's or lower.
Regardless of how hard you may work, if your answers are not exactly how he likes them, you'll likely end up with a C-, D, or worse.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Pros: This professor explains the concepts. I took INFO330 with him and the class had a lot of materials. But the exams were easy as long as you read through the slides and make a good cheatsheet
Cons: Sometimes his classes are boring

Awesome teacher - knows his stuff. He teaches you everything you need to know to pass his class easily and he allows you to have a cheat sheet on the exams. If you just attend class, do the hw and labs, exams are easy. Hw and labs are very easy.

Ok if you want an A in this class then its really not that hard. The only hard part about his entire class really is his homework, those can be painful to get the right answer.
Nonetheless, his exams are hard, but if you have the cheatsheet everything on that exam should be easy.. Believe me, i took his course when my brain was practically dead. And walked out with an A-.

I once would have thought Booker was great, but after taking him the second time around, not so much... he's definitely a Drexel conformist, which is why he's still teaching, because those who should really be teaching have long left, or were shown the door. He's glued to PowerPoints, which makes it easy on you, just don't go, study the power points and you'll be ok. Word of forewarning however, the "research paper" is weighted disproportionately heavy and is supposed to replace the final. I'd rather have a final than a vague research paper.

What the heck? After reading all these comments, I expected some sorta monster... But that certainly wasn't the case. AT ALL.
He really breaks down the information for you, and from the way the slides are made up, I'd say he actually makes his own slides for the class. That's really rare to come across, too. He knows his stuff about networking and yeah, he won't straight up give you an answer if you ask for help, but he WILL help.
You can bring a CHEATSHEET with you to the quizzes. That's like getting A's and B's handed to you right there.
And what's this about being impossible to get a good grade? I've been getting A's and B's so far, I know people who are currently getting A's, and my friends who took him before have gotten A's and A+'s. So those who wrote bad reviews probably just slacked off and deserved the D's and F's.
Yeah the subject isn't exactly exciting, but at least he tries to make it humorous. I certainly expected a lot worse after reading these negative comments.

Was looking forward to this class, but I would rather have it with a different proffesor. That is only because his grading is the hardest I have ever seen at Drexel. -3 on a homework is a C. He actually knows his stuff though and his teaching method is actually pretty decent.

Too much hard work for a mediocre grade. Doesn't care nor teaches the students. He plainly reads off his long ass power points slides and may include retarded jokes that makes no sense. Worked really hard on the weekly hwk and labs and still got either A, B or Cs. Avoid him at all cost!

This is one of those professors you should strive to avoid. His grading is extremely difficult, but even the hardest of workers may only manage a "C". He does not qualify what he is looking for, and you may do a great job and still get a poor grade. Tests are very difficult, focusing on the most trivial and minute of details. Assignments are not entirely difficult, but they are long and arduous.
Most important thing to note? He fails a lot of students. Or a lot of students fail his course. No matter how you want to look at it, the fact is that a high percentage of students get "F"s in his courses. Keep that in mind.

As people have pointed out, he gives you nothing to go on expectations-wise. He will hand out assignments, vaguely answer questions and then the day they're due, go over how you should have done them. The course overall wasn't hard so I really can't not recommend him. His jokes are some of the worst you will have ever heard and you'll find yourself strangely wanting him to get back to talking about the CRUD method.

This guy is really hard grader. Sometimes you don't understand what he expects or looks for in a homework. I met him personally several times. He looks over the work, gives some advice. But when you correct those errors and submit homework, he still finds many problems. The quizzes are very comprehensive, but worth only 10 percent each towards final grade. He failed many students in our class. He makes jokes during the class, but does not care much about students. Judge for yourself and avoid this man.

Professor Booker is very intelligent and knows the material front and back. The only complaint I have is that his grading is a bit too hard. He literally spells out how he wants things to be turned in, but if you don't do it his way you won't recieve as much credit.

No midterm, no final, 4 HWs. I had him for ISYS355, Fall 04 and therefore he knew who I was and didn't really like me. His classes are boring as hell - powerpoint slides and people snoring through class. Eventually you will say screw it and not go to class. All his powerpoints are available on the class webpage. He lets you resubmit homework...Is completely clueless, a 13 year old girl could teach this course provided with the slideshow. Should be an easy A if you work it right. Everyone should get a B in his class. He curves nicely, too.

Well, this class was easy sailing until the last week for me. I will start with the good: he allows you to resubmit HW assignments (4 total for term) if you do bad on the, he's really laid back with that. Also, no class attendance mandatory and NO final or midterm. All he does is show boring slideshows. So what would be the point into goin to class? Onto the bad: he sorta grades a little on the rough side (hence why he has so many students resubmit HW assignments). He hates confrontation and can't look someone in the eye if they have a dispute. His grading of attendance is iffy because I went to more classes than 3 other people - I get an F and they got a C for attendance. How does that work out? When I confronted him, he gave me BS and wouldn't change my grade. All in all, this class seems like an easy A in week 1, but then it gets a little iffy. If you want no midterm, final, 4 HWs and a group project, then he is your man. Just make sure you make it known you're in class and when you're there, give some participation - that way you won't have what happened to me.
