Pros: Elefant actually cares about you and you can develop a great relationship with her. She makes the class to where you don't need a textbook, she'll scan and upload all the readings she thinks you should do but they're not required to do well in the class. She basically tells you exactly what is on the exam and her final was a take home essay that was very easy. There is one project that is also easy. The class itself is an easy A but it is one that you'll actually learn things in which makes it great.
Cons: Her power points are kind of hard to read by themselves because most of them are just pictures that she'll speak about in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but it will definitely help you when she grades.

Pros: One of the smartest professors at Drexel. Once you open her up she will show and explain anything that you need.

For this class at least, she was fine. Very nice, went through the basic material. It really wasn't that difficult.

Pros: Ok teacher, not a ton of work
Cons: Not very exciting, but not the most exciting material to work with either.
Mediocre teacher. Knows biology well but can't always, or doesn't care, to explain it

Pros: Nice I guess
Cons: SO HARD!!! Speaks really fast, she teaches really badly. Just read the textbook cause shes crazy.
She claims to put Questions on the test that come up in class, and will mention that they will be on the test in class, and uses that as an incentive to try and get people to class but most of the time its a lie...

Cant teach. Go through slides very quickly. Makes mistakes and confuses the class when she goes through it again. she is defiantly not a professor that I would recommend.

She teaches extremely fast, and reads straight from the slides, which makes lectures really boring. She never had an answer for student's questions. Overall not a great teacher.
The only reason this isn't negative is because she curves like a mother! I'm pretty sure she curved the last midterm 12 percentage points.

Her lectures are useless as she simply reads word for word the slides she puts up. She gives "incentives" for going to lecture--which are questions she promises to put on the exam. Unfortunately, these questions never showed up. If she deviates at all from her slides, she forgets everything she is saying--she couldnt even define osmosis without reading word for word. Her tests are erroneous, her labs ridiculous, and her lectures useless.

She is really a nice person, but that doesn't mean she is a good teacher. Her lectures are dry.
Her tests contained mistakes that she would fix as people pointed them out during the test. She curves the grades a bit.

I really liked Prof. Elefant. Even though she went through the material really quickly, I felt that her powerpoints were very thorough and if you read them, you'd pretty much ace her exam as long as you went to every single lecture. She gives you some answers to the exams in the lectures as a treat of attending lecture every week. Not many of my peers liked her, but this was the only Bio class that i was actually alert in and took active notes as I listened to her lecture.

Dr. Elefant taught the first half of the bio 122 course, and unfortunately I didn't enjoy the first half as much as I did the second. Her lectures were rather dry. She reads off her notes very quickly, more concerned about pacing than getting the material across, so you don't have a lot of time to absorb the information before she's on to the next thing. Also, her exams were very hard; I think someone forgot to tell her for the first exam (which was a scheduling nightmare because of conflicts)that we weren't grad students, so the averages were very low. She is a fair teacher, though; when she saw how poorly we did, she let us correct our mistakes on that exam, and she's willing to answer questions, so as long as you're reading the text and doing all the work, you can keep your head above water. Certainly not the worst you can do as far as teachers are concerned, but if you have a choice and are very concerned with getting an A, you might want to check the feedback on someone else.

This class was pretty good. Dr. Elefant really tries to present the material in a way so that students understand it and truly cares about her students. Tests are of moderate difficulty. She does curve a bit. Like any other Biology course, keep up with the reading!

Terrible lecturer!
Tests are unfair and she does not curve.
She has told students that she hates teaching cell biology. Why is she
then?

Amicable teacher...easily approached via electronic mail. Willing to help you but may appear slightly occupied at times. Very friendly teacher. Molecular cell biology can be learned individually as you will most likely not receive notes of any kind with the exception of textbook overheads. Lecture can be rather monotonous at times...especially with the material. Labs are filler-worthy.

I take back all that stuff I said. She gave me an A, but I had to work my ass off for it. She took all the A students out for pizza. I think she is really nice and cute too. Felice, if oyu read this can we talk?

As a teacher she is ok, not hard she just isnt very clear about stuff. She seems unintelligent but in fact, if you ever talked to her one on one you would be really suprised. Shes really nice and curves the class so that the average is a B. Definitely worth taking, but it is a class you need to read the book, she has an outline of the class which tells you exactly what to read so if you do it for the tests you should be fine. This was her first time teaching here too so that might have been why it was a little crazy, but dont let anyone full you she is pretty smart in fact I hear she taught at Penn Medical school for a while before comming here.
