Pros: He is very smart professor who seems to know the material very well.
Cons: Very hard to understand due to his accent.
Weekly case write up which makes you think why this is needed.
Questionable class activities: why are we doing it?

enjoyed the class and the way he taught it. there was a decent amount of work, but it boiled down to doing 5/10 quizzes and 5/10 one page papers, thats one per week. after reading all of the terrible reviews, i tried to drop but ended up staying. glad i did.

Ok, so I read the reviews about this class, and I immediately dreaded the decision.
However after taking this class, it's such an easy grade. He's boring, but all and all he really isnt that bad.
There's alot of work to do, attendance is required. But it's easy to get a good grade.

He tries to take away as many points from your grade as possible. Attendance is required and participation is also heavily required. If you do not say anything innovative (with 45 other students in the class) do not expect to get a good grade on participation. You could talk the entire class and still get a 16/20. Group work is huge in this class and that sucks too. We have a quiz each week on material we are not taught yet.
Moral of the story: if you do not have to take him, DON'T!!!

What can I say about the Dali? If you miss more then one class he knocks down your grade by 5 points or the next letter grade (e.g. A- to B+). However, what he fails to realize is most students in his class are seniors that are trying to find/keep jobs upon graduation. We dont have time to learn the same stuff we have already learned.
He doesn't teach. You can't understand him. What credibility does he have? a Ph.D? Sure. That still doesn't give you the right to bore the hell out of me and make me stay until 10:00 every night!

Dali Ma is probably the worst professor I have ever had in my 5 years at Drexel...seriously. He gives quizzes on material before it is discussed and his grading criteria is crap. You can talk his ear off but if it isn't "innovative" or if it just answers his question, your grade will suffer. The problem is that he doesn't give time to discuss and when you do, it's about a question he asks. Pretty much, say one thing and deal with your participation because it's a waste of time. You are given class assigments with only minimal time to complete and his criticism is tough. You have no idea what he expects until you are done and he critiques everything.
So everything in a nutshell...DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TO.

There is zero personality in his teaching approach. He stares at the back wall and lectures without teaching. We are tested on the material before it is brought up in class, and unless you provide "important" comments or questions, your grade will suffer.

He is extremely boring and I'm pretty sure he doesn't teach anything all class. I'm not too sure about this because i cannot understand what he is actually saying. We talk about the case study for 4 hours. Every class i contemplate just leaving but attendence is manadatory and he still wont' give you full credit unless you raise your hand 35 times a class. Hate his class don't take him.

the dali ma. very smart person with an open mind to hear student's point of view. grading system is a check and plus...which gives you no clue as to how you are doing in his slass until you see your grade. participation is a must. i would not retake him because there is a lot of work in and out of class with little pay off in grades...pretty much everyone gets a b unless you run the class discussions.

Class structure was extremely boring. For ten weeks, one day was spent talking about the concept of the chapter, and the other was spent talking about the case study you have to read and write about. Attendance was a requirement, and grading was unreasonable - the people who actually try get the same grades as people who slack. Pretty much everyone gets a B.
