The most amazing professor I've had in this department. He is serious, (some dark humor), and intimidating, but so kind if you ask for any help during office hours. Clearly brilliant, not to mention he has an amazing CV. He derived things all the way, which is tedious, but totally worth it in understanding the material. Best of all, he speaks what he means while writing on the board, which internalizes everything; so as you write, he is saying what you are writing! Just works very well!
Homeworks are really long, but totally worth putting in all the effort because you learn so much; he sometimes picks out the most important hw problems to do that will show up on quizzes (not exact same, but similar). What else? Just overall amazing teacher! Thermo is so hard, but if you have him, go to his office hours, ask questions, and get it cleared up! He'll help, definitely.

Pros: extremely smart, does care about students, will gladly offer help if needed
Cons: very arrogant, cocky, assigns far more than what is needed to know, assigns way too much, makes class a billion times more complicated than it needs to be.
the other kids writing reviews must be the nerds who sit at home and do nothing but study. this class is a good class thats very useful but abrams makes it so much harder than it has to be. hes very smart, and makes you know it by over complicating the material to the point where you wonder why its even necessary. assigns weekly homework that will take a group of 6 students a total of probably 8-10 hrs to do. very smart, but a very very very tough grader and somewhat hypocritical. if you can avoid taking him for classes and can take someone like wrenn, who could teach the same material but only give you the important stuff and can make it easy to understand, do it, it will save you headache, time, and frustration more than you would believe.

The material is not that easy, but Abram trying to explain it very clear. I think he did a curve at the end of quarter. Quizes easy as long as you do HW problems and UNDERSTAND it. Exams- not extremely hard but not extremely easy. During office hours, he would explain to you everything what you will ask him even in different ways. I liked how he was teaching , but material is hard.

This class exists because of Prof. Abrams. Had a 4.0 undergrad at NC State and then attended UC Berkeley (best in nation for chem eng grad). Really knows his stuff inside and out, but is fairly arrogant. He is a really awesome guy, makes class fun, and is pretty much analogous to Steve Carell. He taught the class superbly deriving everything, and making fun of the use of powerpoints and terrible teaching from other departments (particularly mem). Thinks he should be the department head.... but overall cares ultimately for students. After reviewing for the thermo final, he held a session for anyone needing help in differential equations since some said it would be impossible since the teachers for that class blew. THE best professor I have ever had.

Professor Abrams is the best professor I have had at Drexel thus far. He knows a lot about Thermodynamics and makes the subject (that can be very difficult and dry) much more understandable. He is a natural teacher and can find many ways to explain a single concept if he has to. I agree that he should be the chemical engineering department. I highly recommend having him as a teacher or you will miss out. He is excellent!

Abrams can sometimes make you feel silly for asking questions, especially if he doesn't understand what you are asking or doesn't have an answer to your question. If you can get past Abrams sinicism he is a good teacher and you will remember what he taught you. His grading is also fair.

I wish all my classes were as fun as Abrams's. He's like a kid in a candy store full of calculus. He explains the concepts really well and in a way that progressively makes sense building on first principles.
The homeworks are hard and take forever, but the quizzes and exams are for the most part what he says they will be like. Never any curveballs on tests. He's also super-helpful at office hours.

I went to every class and learned a lot. He made it so I could really understand the material, as the textbook was not much help at times. Thermo isn't easy, but he makes it doable
