Cons: DON'T TAKE HER NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO! She is completely insane. She called compared a kid in my class to the guys who killed students at Columbine. Unless you like professors who are completely disorganized, give a ton of pointless work, and blatantly insult you, do NOT take her class.
Cons: Unorganized
Boring class
Her feedback is all over the place
Her assignments are very difficult to understand
Her classes are unorganized and boring. By the second week she had offended half the class by her inappropriate, culturally charged jokes that no one ever participated in discussion, which also made class very awkward. Her feedback on work is confusing and all over the place, she does not give straight forward guidelines on her assignments. I always did my required readings before class, which turned out to be fruitless as we never discussed them. She's very sarcastic, and I would be nervous to ask a question in class or participate with fear that she'd embarrass me.
Cons: Disorganized.
Class was pointless.
If you need your teacher to tell you exactly what to do each class don't take Dr. Erickson. However if you can read a syllabus you should. Offers extra credit that boosts your grade a full letter.
Easy assignments, barely any reading involved.
Cons: I hate posting on discussion boards and was stuck with this class as a hybrid...bleh.
Grading is super slow.
If you are assigned to one of her classes, ask to drop it.
helpful when you ask for it
very flexible with due dates
Cons: we don't do anything in class
goes on tangents a lot
i had her from 7-10 once a week. it was the most pointless class..we never did anything in class and all of our work was online (discussion posts and stuff)
Cons: Does not grade fairly
does not reply to emails
does not teach.
don't take her
HOrrible
-Light workload
-Flexible deadline
-Easy grader
-Do not check attendance
Cons: -Not an interesting class
I took a hybrid class with her. Most of the grade was based on online discussions (one or two threads/ week) and journal (one entry/ week). As long as you posts more than your classmates, she will give you a maximum credit for discussion. Take advantages of extra credits, so that you can give up any assignment you don't like to do.
Cons: hybrid- 3 posts is passing but you are expected to do around 6 a week
Hard grader
She expects you to know what she is thinking.
Post on everything. She is also one of those people who expects you to laugh along with her, even though she is only funny 1/5 of the time. As well as she is quite a bit odd.
Cons: 10 weeks of torture
She has way too many post requirements-- you have to comment on at least 3 other peoples' just to receive a C! so in order to get an A, you have to post one of your own, and then comment on like at least 5 other peoples; i think she favors students who have taken her classes before; she is also very slow with grading
I took her class because she had good reviews and found out the hard way that it is awful.
Cons: shes a troll
shes hates/eats children
gives to many posts and doesn't help you
She is EVIL
Cons: Weird, Disorganized,
doesn't explain things well, Goes on random tangents
Cons: Grades tough on essays.
