Lovely french accent.
Lets you out early from class often.
Cons: Has trouble explaining material to you in a way that you will understand right away.
Thinks everything is easy for you because it is easy for her.
Anne Duchene is an ok professor, but there are much better ones that teach Econ 201. If you hate French accents, DO NOT take her because hers is very thick, although it is amusing. Her tests are pretty difficult, and the homework isn't a piece of cake either. Her lectures get very boring very quickly, and it is hard to pay attention in her class. She is a nice person, but I would take someone else if I could.
Make herself very clear in class
Exams are almost the same as practice problems
If you ask your question skillfully during exam, she will tell you how to do the question and if your answer is right... What else do I need to say.
Easy Exam (Almost same as sample)
Cons: Very occasionally her speech will cause a little confusion
For foreing students, if you dont worry about the French style English, then this professor is the best one of all the professors who teaches this courses
Very easy A+ one!
Cons: Doesn't have close relationship with students, but she welcomes all questions.
If you are Econ major, she would be too easy for you.
I got her for the very first term in Drexel. She was nice and I liked her French accent, it was kinda cute. Her exams were not too hard but you should study to get high grade, if you want. No class attendance, you can skip as many you want, it doesn't matter at all because she sends her powerpoint to you every weeks. But I found it interesting to come to class, I learnt a lot from this class and this is my favorite class in Drexel so far. Definitely recommend her!
Tests are awful and dont reflect what is covered in class which is also different from the problems of the HW.
Textbook is not even mentioned during the course.
Just an irritatingly stupid class, this class made me drop my economics concentration, had a 3.6 gpa and then a b- in this joke of a pointless class brought me down to a 3.2.
Go ahead and take it yourself so you'll have a better understanding of french people.
Cons: Sometimes a little repetitive and the class can get a little boring.
Very good class to learn the fundamental of how the market and the economy works on small scale.
Cons: Boring classes
Other than weekly homework assignments her class was pretty easy. The tests weren't bad as long as you prepared for them.
Cons: There isn't much of an individual one on one kind of relationship, but if you ask questions she'll answer them. It was sometimes hard to pay attention in her class, it got boring sometimes
Very accommodating with grades. During my time in her class, she cancelled an exam to give us more time to study, gave students the option to have one of the test weigh more than the other to improve our grades, and gave extra credit homework to improve our homework averages.
Very receptive with students and wants them to do well. She asks for questions frequently and gives a lot of time to help students if they need it.
Cons: Classes can be boring, generally reads off of powerpoint slides
French accent makes her difficult to understand at times
Would definitely take her again for Econ. Workload is average, just do all online homework, which generally isn't too strenuous. Tests aren't bad if you study. Practice tests are almost exactly the same as the real ones, so definitely study those. Her powerpoints are generally good for studying too.
