Pros: -Powerpoints are very informative (you won't even need the textbook unless you really don't understand)
-Review questions are asked throughout the ppt
Cons: -There's a LOT of material
Dr. Barrett is the ABSOLUTE BEST! My favorite professor at Drexel by far! She's a GREAT instructor and I honestly wish she teaches all of the nursing courses. She really wants you to learn and UNDERSTAND the material. There are a lot of review questions she post throughout each lecture to review the material and keep you on your game. She also teaches you test taking strategies and push you to THINK like a nurse. There's a lot of material, but Dr. Barrett makes it easy to learn because she's just great at delivering the material. I didn't use the textbook at all. Just pay attention and take note of what she says and you'll ace the course, or at least get a B+.
There are 2 quizzes, a hesi, midterm, and a final.
The workload is heavy because the material is pretty tough and there's a lot thrown at you in such a short amount of time.

Ann is an amazing teacher. She is very smart & knows how to get her students to understand the information. It is definitely a load of info. but if you study you should be fine. Her exams are fair, but you need to study & you must know how to answer "nursing questions". Thats what ALL the questions are. There are no 'information' questions. She is encouraging & helpful.

Pros: Interesting
Cons: Hard material
She is a good teacher. She definitely knows what she is talking about and she makes it apply to the real world. She uses the clickers in class with sample questions. the material is hard but I'm passing it and I don't live at the library. You'll have to study a lot though for exams but overall I enjoyed the class because there was so much information to learn.

Our whole class had trouble passing this course. The material is hard if you don't apply yourself and study. However when Prof Barrett saw that we were doing poorly she did a lot to help us. A lot of people will still complain and say otherwise but you have to do things for yourself and that is why i still passed the class even though i was in danger of failing as well. I liked Professor Barrett and if you use her to your best she will help you to pass.
