Muntean rules.
He does not tolerate fools or apathetic students, but he isn't mean.
He is the Mark Messier of Political Science.

Although I didn't do too well in the course, I would have to say I liked the class. Bad grade was probably due to the class being a night class, and my inability to focus. Prof. Muntean makes a topic that I thought I would dread very interesting. He is very knowledgeable, and tries to enlighten his students. He does act as though we know nothing, when we are inable to answer his questions off the top of our head, but if you pay attention, take notes, and read the assigned readings, expect to do well and learn a lot, as well as enjoy the class. Participation is key, so quiet people will have to speak up, although you do not necessarily need to be an expert on the topic to comment. He simply likes for the students to be involved. Exams were not too bad if you did the readings and came to class, he is a pretty fair grader. Muntean is very enthusiastic about pol. science, and tries to get his students exceited as well, I would recommend this class.

Prof. Muntean is not an easy professor. He is a difficult grader and there is a lot of work required. With that said, I think he is one of the best professors I have had here at Drexel in the last 3 years. You will learn an incredible amount from this guy if you put the effort in and are prepared for class. I would definately retake him.

Pretty easy class as long as you come prepared, do most of the readings and study for the tests. Rarely assigns written homework, encourages class participation. Tests are taken from the book but mostly from material covered in class. Attendance is required to do well. Professor Muntean has a lot of knowledge and you would do well to take him! Would retake.

As a foreign observer and political scientist, Professor Muntean offers a deadly combination of an outsider's objectivity with an insider's familiarity that makes him one of the most knowledge professors in Political Science at the University.

How appalling it is to see that students use grades as reference points in their evaluations! It should not be new to you that a teacher DOES NOT GIVE grades, but the STUDENT EARNS them! Therefore, even Prof. Muntean is teaching a 100-student class and they all earn F's, he will still be a tremendously skilled professor whose knowledge and expertise ought to be valued by students!

Andrei Muntean is an excellent professor! I am dismayed to read the other students’ reviews that dismiss him as gross, bad, impolite etc. He is indeed very demanding, but he is justified in this because he puts a lot into the course. Tough and exigent? Maybe, but that does not make him evil! Those who criticize him had better verified that you know what countries America borders on, and then dare emit value judgments on Prof. Muntean. Alas, whatever is intellectually challenging and demanding is easily dismissed as a bitter pill to swallow (translation “boring”) and cannot enjoy currency among students. No one is perfect, and it is common knowledge (in some parts of the world at least) that on the way to success one might have to work hard on something, even more than once, to get it right. In the class I attended I realized that some students felt offended when they were told about the errors they committed. This is a very superficial approach to college-level study. What is even more disappointing is the fact that such great store is set by these students’ reviews! Whoever is here to learn is strongly encouraged to take Prof. Muntean’s classes! He is a very intelligent and totally approachable guy, and if he sees you care, he will treat you accordingly. Keep up the good work Professor!!!

Andrei Muntean is a great professor. You people that are complaining about him are either idiots or just hate doing work. If you pay attention to this guy for 10 minutes per class, you'll learn more that you did in most other classes. True, he's not an easy grader. He requires a ton of work and reading, and his final is difficult. Mine was a 20 page research paper. He expect alot from his students, but if you do the work and are interested in government, the guy is great! What's even better is that he has no bias. During the 10 weeks that I was in his class, I could never figure out which party he was affiliated with, which is something that is rarely found in the PSCI dept of this, or any university. I'm taking him again next term for Comp Gov't and can't wait.

He is a hard professor in the aspect that he makes you think about what you are saying. He makes you read the book which is easy reading because you must present on a topic from the chapter.
