Cons: He does not explain material well.
Very unorganized with notes.
Great guy, great grader, not a great teacher (average)
Take home quizes
Cons: Hard to follow in class
Very difficult exams
A really nice guy, but his tests and quizzes are very challenging. You are better off learning the material on your own and asking him questions then trying to learn it from him. Pretty sure he curved the class because everyone did so poorly on the exams.
Cons: Terrible teacher. His exams were hard and his accent was difficult to understand. It gets annoying because I had to teach the material on my own.
-if you fail ur exams, go over it with him he will give u points bak if he knows u tried
-his weekly quizzes are the same way, if you try, in the end he will give you the 2 points
-overall i say he is a really good source to go to for any help in math 200
-the professor isnt hard the material covered in this class is, so no matter what ratings you use..if you acutually pay attention in his class and ask him questions you will get an A in the course
Cons: Exams are pretty difficult
Hard to understand
I wouldn't recommend this teacher at all. During class he would ramble on about a cetain topic, which you can't even understand, and afterward he will ask, "Are you all with me?" and there is an awkward silence since nobody can comprehend what he says. Also once he did a complicated problem that might have been on the exam on the board and after ten minutes he came out with the wrong answer and just gave up and told us to figure it out on our own.
Cons: accent
poor teacher
He is great one on one in the MRC. If you go to office hours he is better. The quizzes are open book, open note and sometimes take home. The tests are difficult.
no hw
Cons: terrible at teaching
Fair exams
Doesn't take attendance
No graded homework
Cons: Extremely hard to follow during lectures if you don't already know what you're doing.
Took this course freshman year after taking AP Calc AB in high school, which I did very well in. Did very well on the first test (at which point half our class dropped out), nearly totally bombed the second, wanted to cry during the final, and somehow managed to pull an A (I suspect he curved them but I may never know). The weekly quizzes don't count for much of anything and are just there to make sure you're following along. Most of the quiz/test material comes straight from the homework from the book, however they are often the "tricky" problems. So basically make sure you're doing all of the homework right and you should be fine.
Dolgopolsky, while a sweet and brilliant professor who really truly enjoys teaching, is not really the best teacher. When explaining a problem on the board he frequently makes mistakes (little and big ones). If you're not so good at math and don't have a strong background in Calculus, he will probably confuse you beyond belief. However, he is extremely nice and sympathetic to his students, and during exams you can literally go up to his desk and "ask him for a hint," which he nearly always provides. But he is a very smart and nice guy. He's just not right for everyone.
Cons: very lazy when writing on board
very bright but not that great of a teacher...if you do not understand calculus, you will have a rough time
Cons: Makes a lot of in class mistakes on problems and has to constantly be corrected. I know everyone makes mistakes but come on, a professor in college is not suppose to make that many.
He's a fun guy in general but just doesn't explain the problems and processes in a way that students can understand easily. I don't encourage taking him. I only did decently in his class because I would go to another professors classes as well to learn the material correctly.
Cons: He really does stink at teaching. He makes mistakes on his example problems all the time. and his lessons are very confusing... be prepared to get some tutoring...
