Cons: He makes you read almost everyday for homework.
He was nice at first but he grades papers really harshly. He makes you feel really bad about yourself by writing offensive comments that make you feel stupid and that you are really bad at writing. He almost expects you to be a published author just like himself other wise you get torn apart.
I was going to take him again for ENGL 102 but he really offended multiple students on a paper so I switched to someone else.
Cons: There are three large writing assignments over the course of the term, but thats the departments fault.
Literally, one of the best english teachers I have ever had.
Cons: plays favorites a little bit, in class is boring
He is a very good teacher, although a bit monotone and boring in class. If you want good grades on essays, make sure you put in a lot of details. He takes off points for not giving enough details or information. Overall, good teacher, easy to talk to, and is understanding about dates.
Cons: Nothing
Cons: he knows the material really well so he's hard to challenge, but if you prove him wrong on something or being something up he did not see before he will become really excited and interested.
Not an easy A but hes a fun guy and i actually enjoyed English 102 and 103, fight to be in his class!
b) Reasonable when it comes to people's ideas during discussions.
c) Never have to write for homework unless it's a project - you have homework for (almost) every class but it's usually just a reading that will be for the next class's discussion.
Cons: a) Not a very exciting professor but then again, it might be because of the class.
If you can't take sarcasm, don't take him - he's a nice guy but he'll be sarcastic with some of your ideas during discussion if he thinks they're wrong. I don't mind it personally but a lot of people end up being afraid to speak and the discussions are very quiet if you don't have people who don't care about that.
This is probably the only englsh class I've ever taken where the majority of the class willingly participated in discussions. Great class.
Go to class(he takes attendance but class is fun anyway), do your work and you'll learn alot. This is what college is about.
His workload was manageable as well.
Pick him.
