Pros: Fair grader.
Cons: Accent
Hard to follow her on the lecture
I learned a lot and found C++ really interesting from this course. DO NOT CHEAT ON HOMEWORKS. DO NOT SHARE YOUR CODES OR COPY OTHER'S, DO NOT COPY CODES ONLINE, DO NOT USE ANYTHING SHE HASN'T TAUGHT IN YOU CODES, OR YOU'LL BE DEAD.

I would not take this teacher if you have the option to take another. She goes very fast in class and her labs are difficult to understand. Her class frustrates me and I do most of the learning on my own. It is not impossible to do well, but in my case, it is because the assistant teachers graded my labs easily. The point allocation on the quizzes is really dumb. She makes 1 problem 8 points and shell make 5 true or false 1 point each. I would try and choose a different teacher.

Pros: Easy teacher and very considerate! ( A TA graded my lab incorrectly and took off 20 points...she re-ooked at my work and gave back all the points I lost!)
Everything you need to know is on the powerpoints
Easy labs
Cons: Labs are easy, but they can be very annoying to do!
She also talks super fast so its hard to keep up with what she is saying, however I did not have a problem understanding her through her accent!

Pros: You can not listen in class and still get an A-/A in the class by simply reading her power point slides.
Labs are based off of attendance and completion.
Cons: Very hard to understand and has a very strong accent.
Lectures are mandatory, but pointless, and unhelpful.
Have to purchase a book which is useless except for for the last several labs.
She lectures pretty much as she would lecture out of the book so it is the same thing as teaching yourself (very dry). Bring your laptop to class: it will keep you awake in her lectures.

Pros: easy class
Cons: talks too quickly, difficult to understand
tough to understand her accent but the class is really easy so it doesn't matter. attendance to lecture is required, but paying attention is neither required nor necessary to pass

Class was easy as hell, like seriously how to use internet browsers? Seriously? Anyways, teacher is fine, attendance is required even though it is a big lecture, she has a hispanic accent which is a little tricky to understand, but you get used to it pretty quick. Labs are cake, tests joke, easy A, take it to boost your GPA!

Medlock does have a slight accent, and her lectures are boring/sleepable-through. However, we worked with a fake programming language called Alice, which honestly sucks, so I can't put all the blame on her. I will say that as long as you put effort into homeworks and labs, you will get a good grade out of it. There was only one midterm, and the rest was based on those hws, labs, and a group project. She is a very easy grader though and will help you if you need it.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. This was an intro to C++ and she acted like it was an intermediate course. Too much workload for the course (weekly homework, pre-labs, and labs). Medlock wouldn't assist students with code, but rather sat at her computer while the TA helped us. Her lectures consisted of broken English and were just scattered ideas. I wouldn't take her again if you paid me.

SO EASY, I am finishing up 132 right now and have a 100 average.... if you want to get technical i got a 99 on the midterm...... it is the easiest course if you do your homework. Every homework has optional EC so you end up with a 110 or so in homework. Midterm was semi-difficult but managable. Labwork is so easy. Easy Comp Sci A, and believe it or not, I learned alot!!!!!

I've had Prof. Medlock for all three classes, and I think she is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Those people who said she doesn't care about her students are way off. Numerous occasions I had to go to her office hours and she was always patient and understanding. I've seen her make appointments for people who can't make her office hours and give make-up exams for people on her own time. Not to mention if alot of people have trouble with the homework she will give the entire class an extension.

After taking this class... I really wonder how anyone can get worse than a B in this class. I put in no effort, just showed up and got good grades. But then again my classmates are retarded... so that speaks a lot for itself... but yeah, it's an easy grade. Medlock's awesome btw, got an accent but that makes her cute as hell... She's a sweet lady, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

She is an awesome professor. her lectures really teach you a lot about the material. she goes through the material at a decent pace. and if you have problems with your code, she will walk through it with you and point out what you need to fix. the labs are easy, and the homeworks are relevant. the tests are basically whats covered in the homework. I took her for 3 classes. I would highly recommend her

She was byfar the easiest lecturer for C++ in Drexel. The other two professors are a little bit more difficult. She sure does have an accent, but hey I respect that. She explains everything clearly. Just read the 'Lecture Notes' beforehand and you'll follow in easily. The labs are easy. The exams were easy for me.
Her lecture notes are good enough to get you an A in the class.

One of the best professors I've encountered so far. She really cares about her students, and personally, I'm GLAD that she breaks down everything and marks stuff wrong if you put in code that she didn't teach. It's very helpful for students, like myself, who have never programmed in their entire lives before college. I forgot to attach my programs for homework through Web CT, and she took off 60 points. But after emailing her, she gave me another chance, and not only did she give me full credit on the homework, but on the extra credit I did as well - AFTER the due date! She's very personable and understanding outside of class. If could take her for all of my programming classes for CS, I would.

Her accent is fucking horrible. Good luck understanding her, if you manage to stay awake during class. Just write down everything she writes on the board. Actually, you really don't even need to do that- everything you need for the homework and labs if pretty much explained in the pdfs as you go. You can put off buying the book this term, you don't really need it, even if you are new to C++. Just google a term if you don't understand it and you'll do fine.

I don't know why she bothers teaching becuase all she is doing is harming our education. She's not very good at explaining the material, and doesn't even know C++ very well. Also, if you know C++, it doesn't matter, you have to do it her or she grades it wrong.
Don't ever take her, but since Drexel doesn't provide a substitute... you're stuck with her.

She teaches streight from the book. In her programming class, people who had no experiance with programming did far better than people who knew the subject. She grades "on effort" rather than on correct answers, and many times correct answers are judged wrong because she didn't teach the method. Her english is mediocre, good enough that you can understand it (barely) through the thick hispanic accent.
