Personal Statement

My background and formal education is in classical music, and I play contemporary styles like Pop, R&B, Gospel and Jazz. I have 18+ years teaching experience as a private piano teacher, performer and composer. I enjoy teaching students on all levels from beginners to advanced, age 10 to seniors. Many of my students are singers and music creators who want to learn the piano to accompany themselves, or for songwriting/production. I encourage students to use good technique, learn to read music, chord-scale theory and to play by ear.
