As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
Comfort in deep water with the ability to use watercraft (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without use of hands for 2 minutes, etc.)
Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not mandatory
Must be at least 18 years of age
