Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Patty, and I have been teaching for 12 years, with 6 of those years dedicated to high school students. I am passionate about teaching and cannot see myself doing anything else. As a trilingual educator fluent in French, English, and Spanish, I bring a diverse and inclusive approach to my lessons, making language learning an enriching experience for my students. I love to read, run, hike, camp, and travel, and I often incorporate these interests into my teaching to create engaging and relatable content. I have run the Los Angeles Marathon 3 times and will run it for many more years to come! I am also a Track and Field Coach at the high school where I currently teach. My extensive experience and enthusiasm for education inspire confidence in my students, ensuring they feel supported and motivated throughout their learning journey. I believe in creating a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. My goal is to help each student achieve their full potential and gain the confidence to communicate effectively in English.
