As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfort in and around open water with knowledge of safety considerations
Proficient in deep water with basic watercraft usage (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without hands - 2 min, etc.)
Preferred experience working with or teaching children
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
