Personal Statement

Since I was young I have always had a special appreciation for the biological disciplines and the natural world. I have also discovered, that I love teaching others about it even more! I earned my master's degree in Biology, with an emphasis in marine biology. I have worked in the biotech industry for 6 years. In academia, I have worked in various labs and in the field for 11+ yrs, and taught 4 semesters of entry-level bio classes at the undergraduate level as an adjunct professor. I was also able to lead a marine bio-oriented summer internship with a mix of high school and undergraduate students.
