We don’t want to think about our student being homesick, but we know it’s a possibility but isn’t necessarily inevitable. Today we decided to talk about the topic. We talked about when homesickness might happen, a few things to do to prevent it, why it happens, and what parents can do to help.
Helping students realize that feeling homesick is a normal feeling for many new college students is important. According to one study we talked about close to 65% of new students felt homesick.
