Future in Tech (FiT), a division of Vendor Direct Solutions LLC (VDS), is an information governance software company redefining document lifecycles through seamless innovation.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Software Development Tester to join our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about software quality assurance and testing to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology solutions. As a Software Development Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous testing, code reviews, and user experience evaluations.

The Software Development Tester will report directly to the Director of Project Management. This is a full-time remote position.

$20-$25 per hour

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Testing
- Conduct thorough testing of software applications, including functional testing, regression testing, and performance testing, to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts to systematically test software features and functionalities across different platforms and environments.

Code Review and Bug Fixing
- Review code changes and commit to identifying potential issues, code inconsistencies, and adherence to coding standards.
- Collaborate with software developers to address and resolve identified bugs, defects, and issues in a timely manner, ensuring software stability and reliability.

User Experience Testing
- Evaluate user interfaces and user experiences to ensure intuitive navigation, accessibility, and usability of software applications.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback from stakeholders to validate software requirements and enhancements.

UI Design Review
- Review user interface (UI) designs, wireframes, and mockups to ensure consistency, coherence, and alignment with usability principles and design guidelines.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improving UI/UX design elements to enhance the overall user experience.

Test Automation
- Develop and implement automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline testing processes, improve test coverage, and increase efficiency.
- Continuously enhance and maintain automated test suites to adapt to changes in software requirements and development workflows.

Documentation and Reporting
- Document test results, defects, and findings accurately and comprehensively, and track issues through resolution using issue tracking systems.
- Prepare and present test reports, metrics, and recommendations to stakeholders, project managers, and development teams to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and quality assurance team members to ensure alignment between testing activities and project objectives.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to provide input on testing strategies, priorities, and timelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Experience with programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation scripting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose software issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related roles is preferred but not required.
